Quote of the Day:

Just leave a little offering; something that makes the world a little more beautiful. If we can get out without making the world worse, we have succeeded. That’s all we need to do, is find a way not to make things worse. That’s good enough. Add a little bit of beauty someplace.

  1. “Anesthesia” IMO an enlightening article and this quote from the article really spoke to me and my own experience with Anesthesia:
““I consciously turned myself around, and started feeling the pain and going into the pain, and just letting the pain sort of enclose me.” She felt herself descending into the agony—then, suddenly, although she could still feel the surgery, she found herself in a library. “It was like I was in the presence of everything that has been ever known by man and everything that ever will be,” she recalls.

” All things that could be known or understood were there, whether man had ever known or understood them. . . . It was actually too big, too immense and I felt that I’d been forced there, and I had to survive it.”

While she was in the library, a voice spoke to her, communicating several messages. The first: “Life is breath.” The second: “Everything is important, and nothing is important.” The third: “When people move through pain, they find the truth.” The fourth message had to do with Benmayor’s husband (she won’t tell Cole-Adams what it was); finally, the voice told her “that our life’s purpose as a human being was to procreate. That having children was our primary focus as human beings.”

Now my own experience was similar but different, and occurred shortly after a morning surgery later that day when at home: I could not close my eyes for any length of time or sleep for more than 30 minutes or so for at least 24hrs+ and was hallucinating heavily for most of that time…with my eyes open or closed. And the hallucinations were of people and places I have (as far as I know) never known or been to, and they appeared as real as anything in the “real” world- like I remember slightly a middle age man in a blue 3 piece suit sans coat but a vest walking down a hallway in some business establishment, and there was conversation just like in RL. But like a dream, I can only remember pieces of the total, and all of this while in my own bed at home with my eyes open or closed…trippy 😀 Anyways, I think my experimenting with LSD back in 1975 and having been shown of the existence of said Library helped me a lot with my own predicament in knowing that in these circumstances, you just have to let go, and ride the wave… Yee Haa!

  2. Earth pyramids: How to turn everyone in the comment section under the article into 12 years olds.

Oprah: How about Del Toro? He had a speech too. I’d vote him for president before her. I hate to say this article is preaching to the choir, but I already agreed and knew this stuff. Same if Dr. Oz ran for president (dear God no). They are characters – no better than cartoon versions of whatever or whomever the think thy are. Oprah has a lot of baggage. We need to stop voting celebrities into political office. People liked Trump BECAUSE he wasn’t a politician – well that’s what you need for a country. If being a politician means not encouraging World War III then fine. Everyone is still riding this bus, I want to get off.
