The Pyramids of China

Pyramids fascinate many readers of The Daily Grail – the more mysterious the better. As such, it’s hard to beat the Pyramids of China, which – due to their location – have remained an enigma to Westerners, even in these modern days of instant, ubiquitous information via the Intarwebs. Nevertheless, there is some info out there – for example, here’s some recent footage of some of the structures:

You can read more about these fascinating ancient constructions at World-Pyramids.com. Also, for the desktop explorers out there, you can find Google Earth co-ordinates to a number of them at Wikipedia.

  1. Horton lays a pyramid
The pyramid/mausoleum of China’s first true emperor, Qin Shihuang, is the one I think that supposedly has a grand topographical layout within, using mercury in place of water. If memory serves, recent cores taken from this pyramid showed extra-high levels of mercury, substantiating… at least in part, this story.

We see pyramids in nearly every quarter of ancient civilization. Not domes, not pentagons, octagons or curvy obliques but, four-sided pyramids.

Well, not in such colossal scale anyway.

One history teacher I had once brought up the invention of the bow and arrow. This weapon was developed at nearly the same point in history in every corner of the globe. She said it was one thing to invent a sharpened stone as a blade, but quite another to use wood, sinew and stone to create an entirely new tool. To see that happen in cultures that were supposedly so entirely disconnected… was more than just unique.

NOTE: If I had been 20 years older at the time, I would have made a move for her. She was teacher, idol and heartthrob, all perfectly wrapped with red hair and dark green eyes.

Okay… enough of that. I just wanted to stir some dialogue on this subject before the holidays steal TDG into temporary hibernation.

  2. Not Mystical
There are a lot of these pyramids in China and the only thing mystical is what’s inside them. The construction of these pyramid tombs are not so mysterious as its the same as rammed earth city walls which usually are quite a bit larger in volume. I’ve seen a few in Xi’an including Qin Shi Huang and his terracotta army.

    😀

      1. Straight on man
How about a fairly straightforward reason.

All these pyramids need alignment so that they can be built straight, and not fall down. Collapsing pyramids are a waste of manpower, and they make the builders and their bosses look bad. What self respecting Emperor or Pharaoh can afford to be seen with a crooked collapsing pyramid? It would look amateurish and invite invasions by the neighbours, or the subjects would stop working.

So they have to be aligned with something reliable, and there just wasn’t anything straight and predictable around, other than the stars.

Of course the builder’s couldn’t admit that they didn’t really have a reason for this particular alignment, other than to avoid looking silly. So they made up this religious stuff as a cover story.

  3. Core samples…
I think the mystique comes from something inside the human spirit that has been gnawing away at us for millennia. In nearly every ancient culture, there is the message that there was something before them and us… something rather important but that we’ve now forgotten.

People don’t follow theories of ancient astronauts or hidden chambers under the Sphinx because they are simply bored… (although, the 21st century does quite often bore the living hell out of me, personally).

Pyramids represent what may be an existing link to a time when we hadn’t quite forgotten all that we once knew and that within these structures, may be evidence of what that something was.

On the downside of all of this, we are (as a species) particularly susceptible to being gullywallowed by anyone able to present us with a good story that releases us from the sin-weight of modern society.

    As for Big Brother?

The virtue of keeping everything so secret is that if and/or when someday when you DO release some dazzling storyline that leads back to forgotten history and perhaps, too, up to the stars, chances are very good that your people will beat a path to bow before it.

We may be indeed be a culture of sheeple now… but we offer the possibility of becoming hard working, kneeling and fully obedient zombies… which is much better by comparison. We will do a lot more for so much less.

    All bow for the benediction…

    1. demonstration
Pyramids and other monumental buildings are statements. The builders and their bosses are telling the rest of the world something.

Pyramids in particular say that the buildings can build high and big, and accurately. Anyone with enough manpower and patience can build big mounds.

Pyramids are a statement about control as well as power.
