  1. Susan Clancy’s banal probes
Perhaps alien abduction experiences aren’t real. Susan Clancy has the right to conclude this. BUT it is clear from the outset that she did not believe a single thing about alien abductions, and set out to prove that it’s all fantasy and “bad dreams”. The manner in which she ingratiated herself, all smiles and “I believe you!” to some alien abductees, is abysmal. As I said, it’s fine to investigate the phenomenon, sift through the evidence and arrive at conclusions that give real-world medical and psychological explanations– but she just strikes me as the biased kind of sceptic who thinks it’s all bullsh*t, and from the interviews I’ve read, she’s not very objective.

Five years, eh Clancy? Well, there’s another Harvard professor by the name of John Mack who dedicated a lot more years than that to investigating alien abductions … and he did so in a courteous, respectful, treat-others-as-you’d-have-them-treat-you manner that is worthy of our admiration.

Is Mack mentioned in her book? I haven’t read it, but in the articles and interviews I have read, he’s strangely absent … Is Harvard undoing the damage Mack did to their reputation?
