Quote of the Day:

Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.

  1. Here’s a radical idea from a ‘lone researcher’ that could solve a big unanswered question. Ask your favorite scientist, then ask NASA (or Australia’s new space agency, etc.): ‘Would you welcome a brief message from any ETs who are already here, and are willing to begin Contact when one or more nations accepts responsibility for initiating the process?’ Obviously most people would ridicule the idea…but after that, could a SETI/METI researcher, NASA astrobiologist, or other scientist say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’?

  2. The Area 51 guys sounds genuinely scared to me as well. It could be because he’s telling the truth or that he just believes it to be the truth. I work in the mental health field and directly with many who suffer from psychosis. I’ve had numerous discussions with them and they sound just as convinced as this chap did.

The max headroom guy was interesting but I was surprised he didn’t use the limited time to say something a little more substantial…perhaps just being able to hijack the signal was the message?

  3. Greenland sharks are actually still hunted today by some tribes and in northern countries. The mean is poisonous when fresh so it has to be salted and dried for several days. I imagine the smell is horrifying. I believe they found out one shark was 400 years old. These guys are possibly the cause of the Loch Ness Monster. They can be found in the Loch and occasionally come to the surface.
    I think they are beautiful.
