Of suns and stones and floods, and mummified bishops with fetuses in their coffin…

Thanks @AnomalistNews.

Yeah we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun.

  1. Mumified clerics
I have actually visited the crypt in the cathedral a few times over the years. I might even pop in next time I go to Lund. It is quite peaceful down there. At least during day. I have never spent the night there, so I can’t tell if it is more creepy then. However, I have always been kind of morbid and thus wondered what would be found in the coffins or the graves under the floor. Now I at least know how one of them mummys look. LOL

  2. Flood
These reports sound a lot like tsunamis. Indeed, thanks to Japanese temple records, we know that a major earthquake struck the Pacific Northwest on Jan. 26, 1700, sending waves as far as Japan. About that time, according to archaeological remains, Native Americans abandoned villages along the western coast of North America, from British Columbia to Oregon. In the myth of Thunderbird and Whale, survivors apparently preserved the memory of this or earlier tsunamis that drove them from their homes.
The sad part of this was only ONE geologist actually believed the myths about Thunderbird pointed to an actual flood event. He even found evidence in the beach soil and sand and was a a History Channel special. Still know one believed him. He found evidence of the flood in 1700 from ancient Japanese texts. Still no other “experts” believed him. It’s sad to know how close minded some people can still be, but then again proof of that can be found in the comment section under that article. My god, I’ve been studying the myths and legends of many societies now for the past 15 years. I’m no anthropologist, archeologist or geologist, but I can say, with a sound scientific mind, that we can no longer simply dismiss many of these ancient stories as myth. We aren’t talking about aliens here or even something as over exaggerated as Noah. This was a global event that likely happened after the last big Ice Age melted some 10,000 years ago. Why the fuck is this still denied to this day?! Most scientists I’ve spoken with except it as fact or if anything most likely. Not every myth is fairy tales to keep the kids in bed at night.

Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go feed my manticore.
