Do you take your Darklore 7 with milk and sugar?

Quote of the Day:

Many people will not tolerate a state of doubt, either because they will not endure the mental discomfort of it or because they regard it as evidence of inferiority.

  1. The Disease of Creativity

“It is important that we do not romanticise people with mental health problems, who are too often portrayed as struggling creative geniuses.”

No, we must remember they are diseased individuals, and therefore abnormal. Pity those poor poor bastards.

AAAAAAARGH! This is the thing I hate the most about our materialistic, atheist society. Everything has to be rationalized as malfunctions of the brain.

But what if we approached the subject from a different perspective, and consider the possibility that Art is just another form of spiritual channeling? And that a high level of creativity also denotes a high level of psychic sensibility?

the spirit of Fundamentalist Protestanism runs deep…

there is this beautiful & powerful play called Equus, aboot a young man patient of a psychiatrist and the dangers caused by the conflict between the normalizing power of society (you must not deviate too much from the norm) and the necessary nuances of being a human being…

    2. Creative Illness
Reminds me of recent research revealing the dopamine systems of highly creative people are on par with that seen in schizophrenics.

Which begs the question — how do highly creative people cope when they’re prevented from expressing their creative urges, because of internal or external pressure (jobs, family, society, etc)? Although I ask that rhetorically, as we both know the answer from personal experience! Never ceases to amaze me how the deeper, lateral implications are never considered by experts though.

  2. Steve Jobs
It’s funny how the psychic is kind of telling us what she feels he said rather than what he would actually say if she really “talked” to him. Do I think he is in Hell? no, I personally think he reincarnated as a sheep……

………which is a personal hell, the cosmos is always a little more original than the straight answer

    😛
How a plant can tell whether you’re wearing a blue or red shirt as you’re approaching it. (What a Plant Knows on Amazon.com).
So THAT’S what those singing plants in just aboot every episode of Star Trek were doing…
