Your Tiny Slice of Reality

Before asserting anything about what ‘reality’ actually is, please consult:

  1. Good stuff
and would certainly make a better business card than the one I carry right now: first name and last name on one side, and “Google it, m*”#¤%&/()^r!” on the other…

      1. A wonderful device to help us
A wonderful device to help us grasp these insufficiencies might give us little all consuming overloads of sense data just long enough for us to take it without flipping out. Of course, not being able to view the full spectrum of reality is not tantamount necessarily to “missing” things. A lot of our perception is inference anyway, so humans are probably pretty good at inferring and filling in the blanks. Ghost hunting is a particularly vivid example of the limitations of our senses. Ghosts seem to be aware of larger chunks of the spectrum, not that it is always a good thing mind you. Just having more of something doesn’t mean you have more of reality – it just means you are aware of more things, but much of that thing may not be really pertinent or very pressing. As with material reality in general having more does not at all guarantee you have more “knowledge” – it just means you potentially have more evidence to work with, but some detectives are able to make very accurate assumptions with only scant evidence.

  2. Very appropriate…
… if not somewhat late in arrival.
The web… nay, the world, is full of experts that have answers and absolute truths for everything under the sun and beyond. The very word ‘expert’ has been so abused that it just doesn’t really mean that much anymore.
