It’s nice to be back.

Thanks Kat & RPJ.

Quote of the Day:

Think left and think right and think low and think high.
Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!

Dr Seuss

  1. bird adccidents
One the one hand, birds can be remarkably inelegant when they get confused, or when their timing is just slightly wrong. Birds fly into trees in broad daylight. Panic, wind shear, cloudbursts, meteorites could cause this.

On the other hand, the end-of-the-world prophets are not picking up on this one. Slackers.

Indirectly… all that stuff about cats being so balanced and graceful? Forget it.

Cats are often clumsy… though not because they aren’t capable of acing every move. They’re just a very smug species.

They get really embarrassed when they go to jump on a table or chair and totally miss the landing. They blame you for even being there to witness it.

As for the birds, some of the stuff floating around the web right now tends to suggest that this fall was not isolated to Arkansas. In fact, it may not be confined to North America or even to birds.

On that previous sidenote, my sister-in-law’s Siamese rolled off their fireplace mantle and busted its delicate butt in the wood chuck.

Like they used to say in the ’70s, there’s no such thing as gravity. The Earth just sucks.

  2. as a beachcomber….
…I can tell you that I have been “lead” and mislead by certain forces. I can’t tell you they are fairies but I have heard stories from the elder combers now and then. Some believe in what are called “fairy stones” which are normal rocks with a hole that has been naturally eroded through them, and by looking through that hole you can peer into the spirit worlds.
