Mr Assange, have there ever been documents forwarded to you which deal with the topic of UFOs or extraterrestrials?
Julian Assange: Many weirdos email us about UFOs or how they discovered that they were the anti-christ whilst talking with their ex-wife at a garden party over a pot-plant. However, as yet they have not satisfied two of our publishing rules.
that the documents not be self-authored;
that they be original.
However, it is worth noting that in yet-to-be-published parts of the cablegate archive there are indeed references to UFOs.
This is obviously provoking plenty of interest with UFO groups, but I think it’s fair to say that Assange’s wording suggests that there’s nothing too groundbreaking in there…he prefaces it with some disdainful comments about the “weirdos” who contact him about the topic. Not to mention that any Earth-shattering UFO secrets probably wouldn’t turn up in diplomatic cables apart from discussion of possible aircraft incursions on foreign territories.
And if there aren’t any shocking secrets to be disclosed, hopefully this doesn’t grab too much of the headlines, when there are far more serious aspects of the leaked documents…like Secretary of State Hilary Clinton signing off on a CIA request for U.S. diplomats to spy on and collect biometric info from U.N. diplomats.
