Sis Update

Last month I put out a call to help my sister out by throwing a few votes her way in a competition to kit out the teacher’s staffroom at her school. A bunch of you kind folk rocked the vote, and we pushed her school right up to #4, but unfortunately fell just short of topping the poll. All the same, I’d like to thank y’all for your kindness – it sure blew Sister Grail’s socks off and I know she’d want me to pass on her thanks. Here’s raising one to you tonight.

    1. Victory Comes in Many Forms
      Thus, even when we fall short at times there are lessons to be gathered and learned (winning and losing can be measured in many different forms). Perhaps next time your sister will win this educational contest (I do not know her personally, but perhaps in her own way she won the hearts of all those students in Australia who depend on her to teach them the three Rs and for preparing the next leaders for the country). Please give her my congratulations on the effort and TDG family will rise to the occasion next year.

      So here is my challenge at the moment; this is a very diverse group and audience in which I believe some who access this forum is well connected and are financially able (some are in a position to write the check). Perhaps there might be others who may know of international or national grants that could assist this young lady and teacher, to get the educational supplies, equipment, etc., she needs to make her classroom equivalent to what this contest was offering. What do you think?
