Science Saved My Soul

Here’s a wonderful monologue on the profound nature of life and the cosmos, purely through the lens of science: “Science Saved My Soul”.

Only thing that bothered me was the unfortunate anti-religion riff that starts around the 6 minute mark – not so much because I’m defending religion, but it just brings the whole thing back to ‘petty-Earth-people’s philosophical squabbles’ after soaring with some wonderful, transcendent prose.

Clearly the monologuer resists to label his wondrous view of the galaxy as a “religious experience”.

Ok, whatever; how about a mystical experience then? Certainly ignited and enhanced by his scientific knowledge, but nevertheless it produced a very similar result to that which shamans or a sufi dervish feel: a sense of awe, and wonder, and a union with the Cosmos.

PS: Interesting that the images used in the clip when it begins to rant against religion came from the movie Altered States 😉

Haha, my sentiments exactly. I was shown this recently and was about to share it with others – but them bam: instant nose dive in dignity and tone (for atheists and fundamentalists alike imo).

  3. Save your soul
I have in the past found we are stuck in a quantum projection where we are addicted into the realm of the earthly plane by our own fear of leaving it.

This past holiday of thanksgiving I had the chance to speak to a young man of 7 who told me he remembered when he lived in the other time and was in the military.

He went on to say with emotional quivering in his voice he had his helmet on and something hit it and knocked it off and than he was shot in the back of his head.

He was feeling the back of his head behind his left ear and said but now my hair covers that spot. His voice was quiet as he recalled that event and from how his voice was filled with emotion, I knew he was telling me the truth. He remembered his past life and was afraid than, and in a removed, but quiet shock, now recalled. I changed the subject and he began to come out of it and with his sister, brother and I, we played catch the pillow and he was a happy little boy again. That story ripped my heart out as it confirmed what I know of that thing called life we are charged with from the realm of the spirit.

Truth being, we are being held for somethings purpose and that is to reincarnate our souls for its own purpose of entertainment for that something which has us in a holding pattern of life reincarnating over and over, seems to enjoy life’s emotional distress, fear, pain and suffering to an end so it can restart it all over again.

I know when I leave this side show of pitiful craziness and that invisible voice echos, do you wish to return. NO, I DO NOT WISH TO RETURN. I want out of here. This is not the place I want to be.

You beleive what you want to beleive, but for me, I know this life and whats behind it. If you knew, you would rebel to opt out as well.
