I thought Mastodon’s Crack the Skye was going to easily top my list of best albums of 2009. Then along came Isis, with Wavering Radiant, and suddenly we’ve got another contender. It’s dark, melancholic, and absolutely beautiful. From the album, here’s “20 Minutes/40 Years”:
