As flagged a while ago, the Daily Grail will be undergoing some changes in the near future. I’m not too sure of the exact timeline, due to the various projects I’m currently trying to complete, but it should be in the next couple of months some time (as in, anytime from next week through to late October). I wanted to give an early heads-up as I know some people only check the site every couple of weeks.
There should be no great drama, as all functionality will remain (plus some added) – just it will be better organised. The most fundamental change is that the front page of TDG will change from being the current ‘stream of news’ to becoming a summary page for the whole site. It will show the most recently posted daily news briefs, and the most recent ‘stand alone’ feature post, with links to the actual ‘stream of news’ pages for browsing (which you old schoolers can bookmark if you don’t like the change to the frontpage). It will also display more prominently the latest features and interviews on the site, as well as individual blogs. Still working on it all, but so far I’m really liking the summary page, rather than the current ‘information overload’ that we currently have. You may (and, given my past experience, probably will!) disagree – but once the change is done, the site will continue to evolve as required and requested, so make sure you give your feedback.
In any case, the main thing to remember with the change is that the front page will provide links to all of the current aspects of TDG. So in the words of the Hitchhiker’s Guide: Don’t Panic!
