I’m currently reading Seth Shostak’s Confessions of an Alien Hunter (bought as an eBook…I could riff on about the idiocy of the publishing industry when it comes to eBooks, but I won’t). I’m torn with Seth – he seems a really nice guy, and he’s knowledgable (and generous with that knowledge) on topics that I enjoy. But he’s also got this BFF thing going on with the CSI(COP) folks, which I find rather odd given the speculative nature of SETI.
Anyhow, you can find an extended video interview with Seth at FORA.tv (around 36 mins), discussing the new book and the topics in it. The interview is also divided into short chapters, so if your bandwidth is limited you can pick and choose what you watch. Feel free to share your thoughts on Seth and SETI in the comments, I’m sure there’s plenty to chew over.
