UFO Halls of Fame and Shame

Film-maker Paul Kimball (he of Best Evidence: Top Ten UFO Cases) has added a couple of polls to his blog The Other Side of Truth, which are designed to pick five entrants to both a UFO Hall of Fame, and a UFO Hall of Shame. Many familiar faces there, so go post your vote – maybe we’ll end up working out who to trust, and who not to. Then again, would it be all that much fun anymore?

Paul forgot to add the name of Jaime Maussan to the list. It’s kind of embarrasing because in the 90’s I used to idolize the guy, but now it’s sad how evident is his interest to capitalize on every UFO case he finds, now matter how ridiculous and preposterous the evidence.

And the saddest part is that, no matter how many frauds cases he has endorsed, he probably still possess a large collection of videos that may turn out to be the real deal. Why? because he became the most famous face in the mexican ufology scenario, so logically if someone saw something unusual in the sky, and managed to caugth it on tape, who were they going to look for? That’s even the case with the mexican military, that handed the infra-red video of the ufos spotted by some pilots over Campeche to Maussan, instead of giving it to real scientist like researchers of the Universidad Nacional or the Instituto Politécnico. But that’s not Maussan’s fault, it’s the researchers’ fault for not openly showing an interest in the phenomenon and leaving guys like Jaime on the playground all by himself.
