White Grail Theme

For those of you who are bothered by the white text on black background here on TDG, you now have a the choice of a tidy new theme with a white background. If you are a member, you can select the new theme in your ‘My Account’ section, the new theme is titled “iTheme”. Note that if you have Javacript enabled, the side boxes with this theme are also collapsible (click on the title bar). There is no front page video box, but there is a side box with a list of the most recent additions. Hope this helps some of you out.

  1. Doesn’t quite work
    I set my home page to white, just to see what it looks like, but there are a couple of problems. 1. I’m unable to change it back. Now if I click on “Edit’ in my account it gives me an error (“unable to dowload ‘edit'”). This worked obviously before to allow me to change it in the first place. 2. While in “White mode” clicking The Stream does nothing. Just stays on the home page.

      Thanks Olwick. Not sure what that first error is – I’ve no experience at all of seeing it (and neither has the Drupal knowledge base), and I can’t replicate it (what browser/OS are you using?). The only thing I can recommend is to try Shift-Reload on that page, as we have had some problems with the PHP code which manages user sessions. Hitting shift-reload seems to be a workaround for that problem at the moment. If you would like me to reset your account back to the default theme, then let me know.

      Have now fixed the problem with the Stream link – thanks for the heads-up.

  2. I like it. Especially the
    I like it. Especially the collapsible modules. I assume you are using Drupal CMS? The only thing with this new theme is that the fixed width isn’t very good at a high resolution as it gives you a narrow content area with very large margins on both sides. If it could be fluid width, filling 90% of the screen width (regardless of resolution) it would probably look much better and reduce the amount of scrolling.

      Yes, I actually spent a few hours playing around with some different setups, and then realised I had more important things to devote my time to. I’ll keep it on my todo list. The other thing I’d like to do is set it up like the default TDG theme with a video box on the front page. I had it semi-working yesterday, but it still needs a bit of time (which I can’t really spare at the moment). Appreciate the constructive critique.
