Biblical Event

The Biblical Archaeology Society have released new issues of two (out of three) of their journals. Bible Review has hit news-stands with new features such as the subtly named ‘Jesus Lives!’. Meanwhile, the latest Biblical Archaeology Review is also out, with features on the Jerusalem Temple, and the mystery concerning the whereabouts of the famous Menorah. Full details of the contents of each magazine, as well as the usual graphic teasers, are available at the respective websites.

  1. Historical Jesus
Years ago, after reading Holy Blood Holy Grail, I read all that I could on the historical Jesus. Just couldn’t get enough of the possiblilities. Somewhere along one of the threads, I came across Rudolf Stiener. Lately I finished reading his lecture cycles on the gospels and for the first time began to understand the importance of the mystery of Golgatha. Now I regard the Jesus seminar folks as foolishly casting their beads, completely missing the point.

However, they would probably think people like me nuts to believe that an understanding of the historical Jesus wouldn’t be found in early historical texts but only through a reading of the akashic record. A general overview of the subject can be found on the website:

The sites navigation is severly lacking, but the content is great. Sounds crazy, but Steiner contends that the infant Jesus’ of Matthew and Luke are actually separate individuals.

    As always, you folks rock.

    1. Thanks for the links Lee
I’m really interested in this stuff, me being a recovering Cathoholic.
I have just finished reading The Jesus Conspiracy by Holger Kersten and Elmar R.Gruber.
They prove that the shroud of Turin shows that the man who was wrapped in it was not dead.
And presuming that the man was Jesus it throws out the whole basis of Christianity, the Resurrection.

I am happy to believe that there was no such actual person as Jesus but an amalgam of people or gods from that era.

      1. The Shroud of Turin and the Christ Event
        Shadow,

There is a strong possibility that the Shroud of Turin and the Christ Event are totally unrelated. For example, many members of the Masonic Order believe that the Shroud was used to wrap the body of the last head of the Knights Templar, (Please, excuse my French spelling), Jacques de Morlay. Others believe other things. Without more evidence, we don’t know and we may never know. But, I do know that there are many Christians that would love to manipulate the evidence about the Shroud of Turin to make it appear to be the burial cloth of Jesus.

        What do you think?

        1. The Shroud of Turin
          Hi Kennc,

I haven’t really got an opinion but I was raised on the Shroud story since I was 2 and the Cathoholics got me in a big way.
It is interesting that you say the Christ thing and the Shroud are unrelated as that is what I always believed myself when I was young, not thinking that any fabric could last so long.
I have heard the Jacques de Molay theory too and that is certainly a possibility.

The book I just read was very interesting as I have heard all sorts of theories about the Shroud but this is the first one that had a living person wrapped in it.
They say that the body continued to bleed for some time and show proof.I wouldn’t know if it was fair dinkum or not as I am just a reader of books.
It makes a huge difference to the Christian religion though without Jesus dying on the cross and resurrecting 3 days later.

I think there is a good chance the Templars are related to the situation in some way,as that is what they did, protect the religion.

          Didn’t they?
