Pope Poll

A new poll for the end of the week – we’re going with a topical subject this time around, asking for your thoughts on the correspondence between the new Pope’s chosen name, and the Malachy Prophecies. Author Peter Novak points out in his TDG blog that the choice of name may well have been intentional – what do you think?

The previous poll had more than 1200 responses, with more than 80% believing that Freemasonry played at least a strong role in the formation of the United States! Remember you can view and vote on all old polls in the archive – which can be reached anytime by clicking on ‘Polls’ in the menu underneath the TDG logo.

  1. I voted for the wrong one
Well I voted for the top one that the prophecy is coming true and then I had another think about it and I think it is intentional.

I am just blown away by some of the stuff I have read here lately about the prophecy and what those in the know have said about it coming true.

But I cannot work out a reason why the Catholic Church would want the prophecy to come true.
    It doesn’t make sense.

Can someone explain it to me please.

    Thanks,

  2. Choice of Name
the choice of name by a new Pope is always intentional and significant. However, in this case I think he wants to hark back to the last Benedict who was extremely outspoken against the Great War and was a traditionalist ( as is the new one) on sexual morality. It has nada to do with prophecies and everything to do with setting a tone and message for the papacy.

We need an option for “Intentional but unrelated” so I can vote 🙂

    Regards, C

    1. Do you think that’s right?
Hi “Cernig” yes I thought that at one time but I am easily led and when I heard that the prophecy was being fulfilled I chose to believe that.

  3. Prophecy and the Pope
Intentional but unrelated? I could believe that if he did not already know about the prophecy, which is doubtful considering how widely read he is. Otherwise this knowledge surely played some role in his decision, however small, even if only subconsciously. How could it not?

Why “would the Church do such a thing”? Shadows, the biggest, greatest mystery of all, far more interesting and important than all the “Chateau” la blah blahs, secret codes, and possible hiding places for assorted sacred do-dads, put together, is the guaranteed, we-already-know-where-it-is mother secret of them all:

    The Vatican Archives.

And without knowing what is being kept hidden in there, it is impossible to know what is in the true heart of the Church.

    1. Boy are you right Dash!
      You are so right!

Wouldn’t you just loooove to get all those clerics out of there and get in and find out what they have had hidden all these years.

As far as the true heart of the church goes, I don’t think there is any.
How can they plead for money and have Peter’s Pence collected every month by all the Catholic parishes in the world and ignore the poor starving millions in third world countries.

And we have just had a look at the magnificence of the Vatican and how they all live there.
      It makes me sick.
The sooner they all discombobulate the better.
