Da Vinci Update

I’m pleased to announce that my book Da Vinci in America is now available for ordering from Amazon UK for the bargain price of £8.95. Subtitled ‘Unlocking the Secrets of Dan Brown’s The Solomon Key‘, the subject matter is fairly obvious: the book uses hints and clues left by Dan Brown to ascertain the likely material for his next book (due later this year), and looks at each of these subjects in more detail.

The book is a really good primer for reading before The Solomon Key comes out (with maps of likely locations, and the possible codes that Brown will use all included). The Amazon link also shows the excellent cover design by our good friend Mark Foster (click on the image for a bigger version). Amazon US and Barnes and Noble should make it available very shortly for American orders, so hang in there if you’re in the States.

I’d also like to wish everyone a happy holiday, and best wishes for the coming year. Thanks to all for their support of the Daily Grail, and also my sincere appreciation for the excellent comments left on the various subjects we talk about here. Over the Xmas-New Year week, we have found in past years that not many people visit as they take a break from the Internet, so we’re going to be a bit more casual in our postings…there will still be news, but it may be more sporadic than usual as we are not planning the week. If you’re staying online, I apologise for any inconvenience.

  1. Happy Holidays and Thanks the the TDG!
    The Entire TDG Team,

I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the hard work you guys do for the TDG. I guess now’s the time of year when I should express it! My heartfelt thanks for the daily escape and lively debate.

A safe and happy holiday to you and yours.

  2. hey
    Hey all,

Two and a half years without a computer of my own. I reenter the online world with mixed feelings.

I’ve been passing this time in rural Costa Rica, my home now. I scuba dive, spearfish, and sing in a hard rock band. Every now and then I meet someone who I can talk to about Jesus without their eyes glazing over (or coming to blows), but mostly I just talk about other things. The potholes are a popular subject. (They’re really bad. Apparently the municipalidad is passing responsibility onto the federales, but what the hell do they care, right? they don’t have to live here… oh, sorry… habit, you know.)

My mom is fighting cancer and it looks like she’s going to Brazil to see this “John of God” guy who “has helped countless people achieve apparently miraculous healings – of cancer, AIDS, paraplegia, blindness and many other serious or seemingly “incurable” illnesses.” Anybody heard of him? Check it out:

Might seem kinda’ out there but my mom has been cured of a terminal illness before, many years ago in Mexico by an indigenous shaman. I’m pretty skeptical but, you know, the doctors said she was going to die, she went to Mexico, then they said she was going to be fine.

So, Greg- a book, like, made out of paper and everything. That’s pretty cool. Congrats. I read Brown’s stuff. I enjoyed them- a little over the top, but fun. I’m amazed at the attention it’s gotten. Just yesterday I watched “The Two Marys” on CNN (unfortunately). Not a single mention of “Holy Blood, Holy Grail”. It astounds me that these sensationalist programs talk about the marriage of Jesus and Mary like Brown invented the concept.

Anyway, I’m back- A bit mellower, but I suspect someone can get me arguing. See you guys around.

    Yours,
    Joff

  3. Nearing Year’s End
My sincere thanks to all the news team for their hard work on our behalf over the year – I would be lost without TDG, my ‘home away from home’. You have found such an amazing collection of diverse subjects to interest us – please know it is deeply appreciated. Thanks also to those who take the time to add comment and debate; it’s wonderful to share thoughts this way with folk we might otherwise never encounter and many, I feel, have become friends. Very best wishes for 2005 to you all, and to all TDG readers worldwide, – may you experience joy, good health and peace in the coming year.

    1. Happy New Year
      Hi Kathrinn,
I hope you are enjoying the festive season and are looking forward to a beaut New Year.
The mouse is gone from my house but only until the next one appears from some little gullet.
I am anticipating some interesting stuff on TDG in the coming year.

      cheers,

      shadows

  4. DaVinci in America
    Hi, Greg.

    Greetings from Northeast Ohio, USA.

Gee, I just received a Barnes & Noble gift card for Christmas. I wonder what book I should get from B&N…maybe DaVinci in America ? I’ll let you know what I think of it.

Happy New Year to the whole TDG staff. Keep up the great work. A day without TDG “IS” a day without sunshine.

    Bob (Reno1955)

    1. Nice Choice 😉
      Hi Bob,

I’ve heard that book is a cracker, nice choice. ;P

Looks like you’re in luck too…B&N are listing it as 2-3 days for shipping which beats Amazon hands down at the moment.

Thanks for your support, appreciate it.
      🙂

      Peace and Respect
      Greg
