I was watching the London Marathon and saw one runner dressed as a chicken and another runner dressed as an egg. I thought: 'This could be interesting'.

Hawass, Pharaoh King of Upper and Lower Egypt.
Hawass, favorite of Isis, calms the mighty Nile.
Hawass, benevolent holder of human history.
Hawass, Presidents and Emperors bow before thee.
Please be seated.
We will now read from the Book of Hawass, Chapter 9, Verses 22-23:
'Thou shalt not sully his pyramids or his Sphinx or his light bulbs or his batteries, by speaking blasphemies of when they were built or who may have built them!
Thou shalt not dig for tunnels or speak of hidden chambers lest Hawass smite thee with his mighty criticisms!'
Now, let us pray.
Oh, mighty Hawass...

Perhaps the measurements of the sphinx will be publicly available in the near future.
If you can get them, I suggest scaling them down a bit, getting one of these home fabrication machines. For example these people will help you.
Then you can make your own sphinx, or pyramid, including all imperfections, wear and tear. Smaller perhaps, but it would make following the discussion easier.

As a very big fan of visual effects, I'm nevertheless aware that the effects alone can't compensate for a mediocre story. The only diference is that you now can spend 150 million dollars trying to polish a turd with mo-cap and complex particle systems.
Another thing that bothers me is how Hollywood has stop trying to come up with new stories. I didn't knew their eco-friendly philosophies would go to the extreme of trying to re-cycle any old film available in the catalogue. A remake of King Kong might have been reasonably acceptable, but a mo-cap remake of Yellow Submarine??? Gimme a break!!
I'm eagerly awaiting to see District 9, particularly because I liked the way the director approached the FX element of the movie: as just another part of the film that was neither above or below the rest; that's why they shot the film with a common digital camera and natural settings instead of doing it on a special studio with green backgrounds up the cazoot.
So the new approach of FX for the XXIst century is this: make them subtle so they can blend in. The audience is already familiar with walking dinos and mammoth alien ships and crashing comets; you're not going to impress them anymore wih your fancy explosions and cool CGI. Focus on the story, dammit!

Nothing explains the rabidness of the government like an expose' that proves they've fabricated charges, evidence and testimony.
If you have a bit torrent client, here's a torrent file for you. If you don't, or don't know what I just said, take it to someone and get them to help you. Either way, here's the movie Robert Redford made sure happened that tells the story of random and aimless retribution by the feds at any cost.

While you wait for your download, you can listen to this über-excellent song by Rage Agains the Machine, that also deals with Leonard Peltier.
