Dr Schwartz Replies

As I mentioned earlier in the week, high-profile ‘skeptic’ James “The Amazing” Randi served it up in his most recent newsletter to Dr Gary Schwartz and the mediums he worked with in his controversial “afterlife experiments”. Dr Schwartz has decided to set the record straight on a number of Randi’s claims, and has issued a short statement with his reply to Randi’s criticism. I’ve posted it here on TDG as an op-ed, under the title “A Reply to Randi“. Certainly makes for interesting reading – we now have a rival for Randi’s Million Dollar Challenge, the ‘Push the Peanut Across Times Square Naked’ challenge.

  1. Randi’s an Idiot
He’s laughing more at the people who “believe in him” than the people he criticizes. He uses his “magic tricks”, tom-foolery, and trickster-wanna-be and fame-hog stunts to fool them into thinking he knows what he’s doing and is correct in his extremely non-scientific, wild, “exaggerated” (to be nice), and often non-sensical comments and claims that are more laughable than the comments and claims of those he “investigates”. Randi gives True Skeptics a bad name. (i.e., those who are truly objective, truth-seeking, and open-minded — the very antithesis of who and what Randi is (and his ilk and followers are)) I followed him for several years long ago until I got bored with his assininity and realized who and what he really is. Then I walked away and rarely think about him anymore. I mean, come on, here’s a guy who can’t even do simple basic arithmetic (as I commented on and showed elsewhere) and you trust anything he says about his so-called investigations into paranormal phenomena? Give me a freaking break.
