Perspective.

Quote of the Day:

Bin Laden is irrelevant. There are always men like him and always will be. How a society reacts to them is the important thing. We failed.

  2. Is mythology dangerous?[/quote]

First thing I saw on that site was the title of the post “Is mythology dangerous?”, then the picture of the author, which is a woman. And I instantly thought to myself “This is about sex” lo and behold it is.

Why did I think that? And will people think I’m sexist for thinking that?

Anyways, myths have their place in time and space, so if someone can’t discern that from their current state of affairs then yes we’ll have some people who don’t have enough situational awareness. Everyone is like a YouTube video, they tag themselves to what they expect their environment will recognize.

This is funny and somewhat relevant…

  3. Yugoslavian monuments
These are all worthy of saving!

Great examples of powerful objects set in stark landscapes: if they only serve in the future to make the viewer pause for a while and wonder what they were are, who made them, why they were made, and why placed in that particular location, then they will have achieved their purpose.

I would love to have the first one and to put it at the top of the hill behind my farm here in Somerset!
