What kind of metamaterials is Santa’s sled made of?

Thanks to all of our readers. Have a very Merry Christmas!

Quote of the Day:

The main reason Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live.

George Carlin

  1. hey! what’s with the two unwarranted “boomer” insults this morning?

if anything it’s silent generation (1920 – 1945) who are more apt to tell you to “suck it up” (we boomers were/are too emotional) and boomers took lsd long before any millennial got their hands on it and microdosing was first studied by a silent (https://psychedelictimes.com/a-brief-history-of-microdosing-research/)…and btw millennials are using botox, too. (https://www.plasticsurgery.org/news/blog/why-are-millennials-getting-botox-and-fillers-in-their-twenties). i hope this boomerism is just a one time lapse of judgement. generational boxes are, for the most part, meaningless. please don’t fall for them.

  2. Rising rates of depression and suicide are white peoples, developed world problems — where the air is much cleaner than in, for example, Beijing or Delhi. I’m not buying that air pollution is linked to either.

Rather more likely being an over-praised child who was raised to believe he or she was “special” then discovering when reaching adulthood that he or she is no better than average and ordinary can lead to depression and free-floating anxiety for some. Their sense of self is overturned by life out in the real world.

That they’re no more special, talented, or smart than the rest of their peers is a blow for some who were taught to believe otherwise throughout their formative years. No wonder, depression and suicide rates among young people are rising, at least in the US.
