”It is by character and not by intellect the world is won.”

Quote of the Day:

There is always more goodness in the world than there appears to be, because goodness is of its very nature modest and retiring.

Evelyn Beatrice Hall

  1. World War II Bombs reaching space…
“Each raid released the energy of at least 300 lightning strikes, Scott said, and historical accounts from the ground attest to the far-reaching power of bombs like the 22,000-lb. (10,000 kilogram) British “Grand Slam.” “Residents under the bombs would routinely recall being thrown through the air by the pressure waves of air mines exploding, and window casements and doors would be blown off their hinges,”

So this bomb is powerful enough to blow out doors and windows on the ground but somehow the effects can reach the edge of space…

What the heck is he talking about? The ‘Grand-Slam’ remained the most powerful non-atomic aerial bomb ever used used in combat until 2017. So I’m sure it would do a little more than blow in windows and doors – maybe a roof or two perhaps!

If he cannot get this simple bit right, I wonder what else is wrong.
