True artists never die.

Quote of the Day:

“There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own Soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”

~ Carl Jung

  1. news
    Great news RPJ.

Barmouth: Looks like a driftwood log. I can see other rocks in the foreground, is this low tide at a beach?

Mountain Lion: Damn! That’s kind of awesome! A whole lower jaw on your head. I hope he saves the skull, that would be amazing to look at.

Viruses: I am torn here. On the one side I have seen meditation work in this way for a human not a computer, but on the other side I have removed some pretty dreadful viruses from computers in my last job. I would like to see these people’s computers to see if it is really gone. Most viruses are more insidious than just uninstalling third party shareware. I once got a really bad virus that took me 3 months to find and remove EVERY piece of it and that’s with antivirus, malewarebites, and cleaner. It completely destroyed some of my programs, forcing me to reinstall the entire OS again. Just brutal.

Dildos: Missed opportunity. Send them to Trump. He won’t get the joke but at least his wife won’t have to funnel his duffer anymore.

    Letter to David Bowie,

    Dear David Bowie,

May the Cosmic Owl fly you back to your home in the stars; guided by a white wolf to Sirius. In peace…you go home. In peace…we remember.

    Go now…to your home.

    With love,
    Lastloup

        1. It is odd how the Ouachita
It is odd how the Ouachita Mt’s get more sightings than the Ozarks to the east. I live in the Ozarks about 2 hours north and east of the northern boundary of the Ouachitas. The two ranges actually blend into one another, but for some reason there are more sightings in Oklahoma. There are actually more remote areas in the Ozarks, but not as much private forest land. The Ozarks are largely owned by the Forest Service whereas the Ouachitas are largely privately owned by timber companies. Perhaps that is the reason – there are fewer people tramping around the Ouachitas though it’s not like the Ozarks are overrun with people either.

          1. Fewer people
Are there other things that distinguish Ouachita from the Ozarks? Underground cave systems or rivers perhaps?

          1. I just cruised Google Earth
I just cruised Google Earth with the “Bigfoot Reports” overlay turned on and there are more reported sightings in the Ozarks, but there is more concerted effort to search in the Oklahoma part of the Ouachitas. There are areas of concentrated and regular interaction on the Oklahahoma side as is evidenced by the Monograph. Geologically, the Ozarks are complex and multi-faceted whereas the Ouachitas are pretty much the result of one orogeny.

It’s possible that more aggressive timber falling and woodland “edge” in the Oklahama Ouachitas means more deer and therefore more BF’s.

          2. The “tsunami” theory of
The “tsunami” theory of humans and proto-human dispersion to islands is very attractive.
