“Eternity forbids thee to forget.”

Quote of the Day:

“I had a dream, which was not all a dream.”

Lord Byron

  1. Dark (Brain) Matter
Is dark matter the ultimate fudge factor of physicists, or what?

Seems to be getting used to explain more and more anomalies, such as the “angular momentum problem” in galaxy formation. I tried to find a layman’s description of this on the web, but didn’t come up with much. From what I gather, the rotation (period) of galaxies is not consistent with the supposed age of those galaxies. For example, the period of the Milky Way Galaxy is around 250 million years.

That means our galaxy would have only completed a small number of total rotations from its inception! (Either that, or the rotation has somehow slowed dramatically due to some unknown inertial braking effect.) But no worries, we have dark matter at our disposal.

    1. Those of us who muck about
Those of us who muck about with stuff like ormus and orgonite will argue too for the idea that there is something yet to be accounted for – we don’t yet grasp the totality of forces and physical relationships – but we apprehend these deficits using our own bodies as the measuring devices. It is a technique fraught with perils like for instance the placebo effect, but for those of us who have a lot of experience using the human organism as a measuring device there is more certainty about effects than most people realize.

      1. Man, the Measure of Some Things
Yes, I think that years of study and sucking up to academic advisors and peers disables one’s internal “BS meter”. In other words, you gain the ability to accept things that are totally absurd to the casual observer, such as the galaxy achieving its current state of organization (with complex resonance relationships between stars and planets) with a very limited number of rotational cycles.

Well, at least angular momentum of galaxies is acknowledged as a “problem”, even if mainstream science is very much handicapped in finding a solution.
