Beware of his coming…

Thanks to Susan.

Quote of the Day:

“Their mouths, which mere minutes before had been employed in the process of demolishing and ingesting various foodstuffs, were now jammed up damply against one another while still being used for breathing, which must have been more than a little uncomfortable.”
“Bits of one jammed into bits of the other, dangerously close to some of the weakest and most important internal organs.”
“With absolutely no regard for personal space, the two of them created an unnecessary amount of friction, generating sweat in the process.”
“Some sort of gel emerged.”
“One sat upon the other, like furniture that sneaks inside of your body.”

Erotica Written By An Alien Pretending Not To Be Horrified By The Human Body (excerpt), by Mallory Ortberg.

  1. On alien viewing eating
How weird. I’m reading “Gulp” by Mary Roach right now and it’s put me off food.

As for aliens watching humans, I recall reading a book years ago by Theodore Sturgeon where people or aliens had to put veils over their mouths when they ate. I’ve forgotten the title of the book ( i think it might have been The Lovers but I’m not sure), but I know I was afraid to eat on front of anyone for a while after I read it.

    1. Demonic Possession
It would be interesting to hear what orderlies in mental health facilities see in the way of possessed-like behavior. It is possible that deteriorating mental health is an avenue of ingress for disordered spiritual entities and/or that extreme mental unhealth is itself capable of generating some of the phenomena.

      1. Disordered Spiritual Entities
If you see my comment on Tony’s blog –and his response– you’ll see that I’m not entirely closed to that possibility. So maybe the entity is like a psychic virus that uses the host’s memories & beliefs in order to spread out & attack other people; and just as the way Dysentery manifests in humans in the way of severe diarrhea, getting infected with a ‘demonic parasite’ prompts you to swear a lot & say obscene things.

But I also think Multiple Personality Disorder might have something to do with it. And BTW, isn’t it great how scientists thinks they can ‘explain’ things by just putting a complicated name to it? Just like the placebo effect, if you have a patient who shows 2 completely divergent personalities, you just diagnose it with MPD & voilá! 😉

    2. “Humans are gross!”
Remember that ‘UFO Coverup? Live!’ show, that many researchers believe was part of a disinfo campaign? The one where it was ‘disclosed’ aliens have a craving for strawberry ice-cream? You KNOW that meme had an impact in the pop culture, because I remember it was mentioned in the show Beverly Hills 90210 –Yes, I used to watch it in my early teens, so sue me! 😉

I also remember this other notion, that supposedly aliens ‘absorb’ food nutrients from their skin rather than their mouth, so I guess a hot date with an alien girl would not entail a restaurant in which a tie was mandatory –it would be a restaurant where NO SHIRT was mandatory 😉

        1. Quantum
Well, they came up with a way for the macroscopic universe to have interactions with the quirky field of the quanta. I wouldn’t be surprised if further down the road we find these types of systems are pervasive all around Nature.

    1. Madame Barbietsky
All the time I was watching the Vice documentary, I kept thinking: Maybe Valeria Lukyanova is destined to become the Madame Blavatsky of the XXIst century; and the reason I ‘dare’ to compare the 2 of them, is because just as it was shocking & outrageous for Blavatsky’s contemporaries to see a strong, independent woman behave the way she did –with little regard for social conventions or male authority– perhaps this Ukranian girl was only allowed to find self-expression by way of going to that extreme level of cosmetic materialism.

For better or for worse, the Human Barbie is now the ultimate conclusion of the New Age movement in the XXIst century.

      1. dear [god] no
I don’t have anything against her becoming “The Next Blavatsky” however I don’t know if this is the best way to go about it. I strongly believe that I’m one of the few left on earth who DOES NOT think MB was a charlatan. But when I see this girl, I just can’t see it. She has taken to an extreme whereby people can’t get past her looks and what lies on the outside, rather than the potential inside. It’s too…well…plastic. And I feel like I’m watching something that should be playing on those giant jumbo-tron screens in the background of the movie Bladerunner as they pan around a post-apocalyptic city. In this materialistic realm, we can’t get past what we see first and this blocks our other senses, including common sense. So think of her as a strange new food on your plate. You want to try it, but your eyes are telling your brain already that it doesn’t look good and to avoid it. That’s how people are seeing her, and if not then they are looking at her for her beauty only. I want to shake her and ask WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO YOUR BODY WHEN YOUR MIND HAS SUCH POTENTIAL? WHY DO YOU STARE AT ME WITH DEAD PLASTIC EYES?!

Indeed, both this girl and MB are two extremes on either end of the same scale.

        Baaaaaaaaahhhh
