I don’t know where the sunbeams end and the starlights begin…

Thanks to Mr Anomalist & Bosko.

Quote of the Day:

If man could be crossed with a cat, it would improve man but deteriorate the cat.

~ Mark Twain

  1. Sky ships and the wild wood
I am reminded of the attempts to prove the Nazcans had some mastery of flight in hot air balloons as an explanation for their geoglyphs being propery seen from the air – the sky ships described sound so much like hot air balloons and I seem to remember that the balloon built by … [I can’t recall who tried to recreate it and most of my library is currently packed away for an impending move] looked very boat-like.

The idea of ancient peoples having access to flight would offer possible explanations for a number of things, from ‘myth and magic’ to curious archaeology. As I’m writing this the picture to the side advertising Heretic seems to show a magic carpet – yet another example of lost technology becoming myth perhaps.

As for the article on the wild men and women, as my chosen monicker suggests this is a topic close to my heart.

    1. Flights of the Mind
I’m convinced the Nazca Lines were intended for shamanic rituals. Geometric shapes overlaying animal shapes; this is very much a DMT trip, and Peru has a history of psychedelic use going back millennia, from the San Pedro cactus in the highlands to Ayahuasca in the jungles. My question is, did they journey to Nazca physically; or was it a map for flights of the mind?

Although I still hold out hope that a bunch of kids flew a gold Condor made by the Olmecs from Mu technology…

  2. Concerning the Atlantic Ocean Road
It is situated in Norway, a country so filthy rich due to sheer luck and with inhabitants so ignorant and hostile, it is like going to hell!!

    1. Whynotamous!
My cat: “Dinner?” “Belly scratch?” “Hey, I know the secrets of the universe and the meaning of life, but I’m not going to tell you until you’ve reached the same level of enlightenment we cats have achieved.”

I’m sure most animals wouldn’t have anything nice to say to us.

    2. Literary pets
I know I plug the hell out of this book whenever I can, but yet again this is a time to point out such a great read. Further reading on the great philosophers of the past and today and the animals the loved. For better, some for worse.

Thanks to Dr. Lupo for introducing me to this book and putting a big X through every page that talked about Descartes 😛

  3. as I drink a Coke…
    …bandages are down Aisle 5…

It’s funny, how I learned more about marketing and corporation from working five years at Rite Aid than any of the classes I took in college. And really, it goes much deeper than that. Children are not nearly as much of a money maker as the impulsive buys and “tricks” the corporation uses to sell you things. But in the end, it’s still up to the parent to set the example. And in the end, if you’re tired and coming home late from work, you will pull into McDonald’s and by a Happy Meal out of exhaustion for the kid. This may never change.
