Quote of the Day:

“We do not err because Truth is difficult to see. It is visible at a glance. We err because this is more comfortable.”

~Alexander Solzhenitsyn

The weird definitely has gone pro :3

(when various things like Psi, NDEs, the location of Jimmy Hoffa’s bod are mainstream, what room is there for the weird? It’s all weird)

“It’s a strange world. Let’s keep it that way.”

Yanno what’s funny? Years before CSICOP changed their name to CSI (and their cons to CSICON), robert anton wilson and some others formed the CSICON, the Committee for Surrealist Investigations of Claims of the Normal.

He has this riff in one of his books where he goes on aboot Normal/Average being invented by Francis Galton who, among other things, popularized eugenics & statistics.

RAW has a quote that is perfect for the Crazy Years we are living in I think

“There are periods of history when the visions of madmen and dope fiends are a better guide to reality than the common-sense interpretation of data available to the so-called normal mind. This is one such period, if you haven’t noticed already.”

        1. Excellent quote
That’s exactly why I feel TV programs like The Daily Show & Colbert Report give the viewer a more accurate image of what’s really going on with the world, than the ‘serious’ news outlets.

  2. Shambhala
    Red Pill,

The are many views of Shambhala which has many names. The fact is that the name isn’t important. Japan is my home. In 26 plus years in Japan, I’ve learned that importance is meaningless. But instead, function is central to everything. It is the function of Shambhala, or whatever you want to call it, that is important. Furthermore, if you are really ready to find Shambhala, it will find you.

    1. The function of Shambhala
The way I see it, Shambhala serves as a symbol of the perfect human community. A place where all conflict has been resolved and peace and harmony reign supreme.

It’s a bit like Camelot, although in the Arturic legends that perfect golden age lasted very briefly, like everything humans do –that’s why we probably see the denizens of Shambhala as ‘ascended beings’ who are above the human condition.

In America there are similar stories about other perfect kingdoms, like El Dorado, and Paititi.

      1. Shambhala Isn’t A Symbol, Shambhala Is An Example!
        Red Pill,

It’s an example for individuals and groups to aspire to attain. To attain Shambhala, individuals have to attain shambhala within themselves and then Shambhala will find them.

Shambhala’s Function is to be an Example that individuals and groups can aspire to attain.

        1. Unattainable example
An unattainable example; but then again, if you aim for Shambhala and you only end up with Utopia, then that doesn’t sound like a pretty big failure to me 😉

          1. This Is True, but, nothing ventured nothing gained!
            Red Pill,

Even though it may not seem so, in Asian Philosophy, everything has function in one sense or another.

          2. Unattainable
You know, the UFO phenomenon might just be a new re-packaging of the Shambhala meme, and its function might be the same: to make us dream of a better tomorrow.
