Quote of the Day

“Belief is the enemy.”

John Keel

  1. fake army
Fake army units are actually pretty common, and also occur in Navies and Air Forces.

For example, in Canada we have a submarine force, which we bought (used) at significant expense from the UK. None of the submarines are in working order, and won’t be for quite some time. As in the case of the faux “supreme commander”, the money involved is of course real.

I could list some other countries where the entire armed forces are basically fake, in the sense that they could not fight for their country if they tried.

    1. Submarines
You could always talk to the Colombians, in case you want to replace your fleet at a cheap price 😉

And in any case, modern armies serve most of the time as an ornament, with the occasional exception of a natural disaster striking, when they are used for rescue operations.

And, to be honest, is much better to have an army that is only used in parades, than to use them as a police force –believe me, I KNOW what I’m talking about here 🙁

  2. Jesus’ crucifixion nails found…again
Simcha produces glossy, witty, well-produced programs. I agree that the man is something of a “fringe loony” and makes his living out of controversy.

Yet our past is rife with conundrums and puzzles. We will never have all the answers. Simcha delights in tossing fresh concepts into the air and forcing us to reconsider “the truth”.

The nails in question may not have crucified Jeshua ben Joseph, but they look as if they crucified SOMEONE. Some poor shlump who annoyed the Roman authorities, no doubt.

So watch what is doubtless a good program, and consider its posits. Chew it over with a heavy dose of salt, as I will.

    rehteahliag—Gail Heather
