Ignorance is not bliss — and never has been.

Big thanks to Greg!

Quote of the Day:

Life does not consist mainly, or even largely, of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thought that is forever flowing through one’s head.

Mark Twain

  1. That certain glow…
Re: The top five times the US almost accidentally nuked itself.

Tybee Island, 1958 — Broken Arrow
In the waters off Tybee Island, Georgia, right at the Georgia/South Carolina border and not far from Savannah, buried in about 10 feet of silt is a hydrogen bomb. It’s been there for more than 50 years.
In 1958, a B-47 Stratojet bomber suffered a mid-air collision during training exercises. It was carrying a Mark 15 hydrogen bomb…

This nuke was my neighbor throughout most of my youth growing up in Savannah and Tybee Island, Ga. At least once a month, there would be someone out jacking around Wassaw and Ossabah Sounds looking for that old bomb. But if you asked them what they were doing, they’d always tell you that they were hunting for lost pirate booty.

Back about 7 or 8 years ago, there was a serious attempt by private citizens to locate it but the Air Force wasn’t interested. The last thing they wanted was for it to be located. They’d then be forced to shell out millions for its safe retrieval and ultimate disposal.

The official line is that it was NOT a live bomb because the plutonium detonator had not been installed. Others have disagreed.

Either way, there was a lot of radioactive material on board that would now be slowly deteriorating in the corrosive environment.

The Mark 15 was one of the largest H-Bombs ever constructed.

  2. Finally!!!

  3. What’s that you say? The Chilean mine rescue was a Masonic plot? Hey, makes sense to me! Not really.
I was waiting for someone else to notice this, though they completely forgot about the fact the the “elevator” NASA made for them was called a “Phoenix”….ah! it all comes together now 😉
The rescue date 10/13/10 adds up to 33.
…but they started on 10/12 – Crowley’s birthday!

    1. how long
How long until someone finds out this was all staged for the media? Nobody was actually in the mine, and all those things?

We can’t have good news without some kind of negative conspiracy now, can we.

As for myself, I admire the good work done by these serious people.

  4. Rising seas, et al…….
So why do so many folks get their panties all in a twist about declining species? Species come and species go. Some go extinct and others develop to take their place.

The only constant on this planet is change, both physical and animal. and I’m not going to lose any sleep over it.

There were all sorts of creatures before humans, and after we are gone, there will be others to take out place.

To think that there is anything that humans can do to influence planetary change, to influence evolution, to influence the rise and fall of species, is to ascribe a level of narcissism to us that I just don’t think we deserve, outside, of course, of “progressives” and “socialists” who thrive on such a psychotic delusion.

I am here for the ride. Humans cannot possibly be of any measurable influence upon evolution, planetary development, or history, all things considered. The time spans are so great that we are delusional to think we count for anything.
