The truth is somewhere.

Cheers Greg.

Quote of the Day:

“Something is going on in the skies that we do not understand. If all the airline pilots and Air Force pilots who have seen UFOs – and sometimes chased them – have been the victims of hallucinations, then an awful lot of pilots should be taken off and forbidden to fly!”

~ Captain Kervendal, French Gendarmerie (one of the speakers at the 2007 National Press Club UFO conference)

  1. Betting on the Rapture
In re: SETI’s Seth Shostak says we could have proof of aliens within 25 years.

    Quoting from the above-mentioned article…

“I actually think the chances that we’ll find ET are pretty good,” said Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute in Mountain View, Calif., here at the SETI con convention. “Young people in the audience, I think there’s a really good chance you’re going to see this happen.”

    Right.

I am admittedly a lot more skeptical… or perhaps cynical on this subject than I was even just a few years ago. But in its defence, the negative attitude IS the product so many pronouncements, just like this one, spanning decades.

    Deep breath…

To wit; we have been promised things like moon bases and manned Mars missions since before Sputnik made it into orbit. And with each generation of space enthusiast, the timeline is once again pushed back to – and often beyond – the next.

Chances are slim to none at all that I will live to see a manned mission to Mars. And the odds are only slightly better for those of you who are younger.

As for proof of life elsewhere? Proof of intelligent life? The old humor that questions that latter commodity even here on Earth, is still a worthy competitor because it holds its value for each new generation.

And anything like the so-called Disclosure event? That’s so incredibly unlikely that one might do far better wagering on the Rapture.

Um, I thought they were one and the same 😉

  2. sick schoolkids
    These poor kids:
, even though the children’s symptoms all disappear on weekends when they aren’t in school.
Is there a correlation between the symptoms and the amount of homework not done? Or the number of upcoming exams?

It would not be surprising if those types of things cause illness in children, with symptoms going away when they don’t go to school.
