News Briefs 03-05-2010

The Emerald Coast of Florida’s panhandle has the whitest beaches in the world, composed of 95% quartz crystals that look and feel like grains of sugar. I sure hope those beautiful beaches aren’t ruined by an oil spill.

Quote of the Day:

Is anyone else noticing a trend here? Decades of onslaught by Republicans (and many Democrats, as well) and business friendly interests have led to the complete inability or unwillingness of government to regulate our food safety, our water, our financial markets, our mines, and now, tragically, our offshore drilling programs. And in every case, defanging the regulators has led to expensive disasters. All so a select few can make more and more money.

  1. Who Katie Didn’t Do Next
Apropos of nothing, Kat, as I was working my way down your briefs – so to speak – (a theme seems to be emerging here!) – I noticed in the midst of the Fortean Feed, out the corner of my eye, the headline: Two New Clips of Jordan’s Bum, Big Feet – Horror, Savagery!

A more direct examination, though, revealed – blessedly – ambitious ‘supermodel’, (and former wife of Aussie ‘superhunk’, Pete Andre), Katie Price hasn’t yet qualified for the status of a Fortean style ‘monster’ at least.

“So Long and Thanks for All the Flowers.” 🙂

Just another example of how universe keeps on giving us treasures. Problems to solve. Keeps us busy 🙂

(especially to knock loose our assumptions, such as just because things are how they are, doesn’t mean that is how they were meant to be — is Nature inherently balanced and good and so forth)

We truly live in exciting times.

  3. time travel……love this subject
Sorry Stephen, you won’t. It may exist in the future, like 3000ad comming back to our future but if it has happened in our past, then we may have records of it. Example, was the angles/travellers who destroyed Sodom time travellers from our future to create or change an event that would be very harmful to us? If so then the ship that picked up Ezekiel could have been a time machine.

It makes some sence, Sodom was so full of depravity that if allowed to continue could have poisoned man and led to an early extinction or a very undesirable future. A pocket of morale humans with technology could have developed a time machine and went back to correct this stain on the past. It would very well have been a suicide mission. Change the future by so much would mean a future void of the neccessity in the first place and hence these travellers would not exist or exist in a completely different circumstance.

Better stop, my head is spinning……………….

    1. Depravity
Oh yes, the depravity of Sodom.

I never understood Lot’s attitude on that tale. The citizens of Sodom want to get friendly with his strange (and apparently handsome) celestial visitors, and Lot is willing to give them his own daughters in exchange! Excuse me, Mr. Holy man: why don’t give your OWN bum in exchange? Oh yeah, I forgot that back in the day the daughters were a property of the father. Those are sure fine values, not the unholy ways practiced in Sodom.

Not that his daughters turned all to be that pure and righteous in the end, since they were all too happy to rape their own father in a cave after Mom got turned into a statue of salt —Oh those Sodomite high schools! 😉
