Obama’s in, but we haven’t forgotten about you, Georgie boy.

Thanks to Greg and Kat and all Americans who voted blue.

Quote of the Day:

The days of looking the other way while despotic regimes trample human rights, rob their nations’ wealth, and then excuse their failings by feeding their people a steady diet of anti-Western hatred are over.

  1. W and critics
I consider elections to be of some importance in the places where people do the electing. There are local, regional and global issues at stake. The people everywhere should have at least some influence on how their country, province, city and village is run.

Since W and his party are out of power in less than 10 weeks. the bleeding idiot politicians all around the world may actually run on actual issues. As opposed to saying “I am against GWB, elect me”.

I wish politically involved people would actually try to solve problems, instead of just trying to get their guy or girl elected.

Let us hope that Obama and his team do their job in government right. And let us hope that my and your local bleeding idiot politicians can be made to work with their respective jobs, instead of finding excuses.

    1. Voting against
My Quote of the Day was going to be W.C. Fields:

“Hell, I never vote for anybody, I vote against.”

Sums up how people vote these days! I’m guilty as charged, your honour.

      1. I complain, but …
Ok I have to admit this.

In the last Federal election in the country where I live, I votes against someone too. Old man Walt was trying again, and I know his record of what he does for the people he supposedly represents. He did nothing, zilch, nada, and that in some years when his party had a solid majority.

So this election, there was this new guy who has been our MP for 2 years or so. He actually tried to do something for the folks he represents. And then the opposing party puts up old man Walt again. The voters didn’t go for this one – Walt’s old supporters voted for the other guy, or didn’t vote at all.

So yes sometimes we have no choice. It is my hope that in the next few years there actually will be reasons to vote for some people.

Oh well, some nights I am a romantic.

  2. I feel that I’ve woken from a horrible nightmare.
I hope that President Obama can begin to clean up the mess that 30 years of GOP rule has done to our country. And as a community volunteer I will be right there with him. I can’t believe I haven’t had a drink the whole time GWB was in the White House.

  3. Remote China school. Yikes!!
Shen Qijun, 45, the teacher, has threatened to quit several times, but each time the villagers plead with him to stay as there would be nobody else to teach their children.
That man is a saint.
