Mary Magdalene, Harlot or Queen?

The Color Scarlet

From its infancy the Christian Church has taught that Joshua son of Nun in the Old Testament was a “type” or “figure” of Jesus. Joshua not only lent his name to Jesus, but also provided a general plan for saving and settling a nation under God. Considering the importance of Joshua as a role model for Christ, it is only fair then to ask: Was there a prominent woman in the time of Joshua, and does she have a counterpart in the life of Jesus as told in the Gospels?

In the Book of Joshua (Chapter 2) the hero Joshua sends two spies across the Jordan and specifically to visit Jericho. Upon entering the city, they immediately seek out a woman named Rahab, who is repeatedly and in no uncertain terms referred to as a harlot. The apparent distraction of the men would seem to imperil their mission, but is instead turned to the benefit of Israel. This woman Rahab proves to be a valuable informant, and she also helps the men escape after their cover is blown. In return for these services, Rahab and her family are later spared when Joshua takes the city and puts every other living thing to the sword.

That is the last we hear of Rahab in the Old Testament, so it is quite unexpected to not only find her mentioned in the very first book and first chapter of the New Testament (Matthew 1), but also identified there as an ancestor of King David. We might now ask: Why would the motherhood of Rahab and her contribution to the “scarlet thread” of Messianic kingship only be made explicit in the Gospels? This deliberate and seemingly unnecessary mention of Rahab in the New Testament compels us to take a fresh look at the highly detailed story of Rahab in the Old Testament. As a result, we shall learn that Old Testament precedent relating to the “saving” of Rahab by Joshua was faithfully reenacted in the New Testament figure of Mary Magdalene. That is, in order for everything written about Jesus in the Old Testament to be “fulfilled” he had to, among a great many other things, be intimately affiliated with a woman intentionally defamed as a harlot.

There are a number of obvious indications in the Book of Joshua that the description of Rahab as a harlot is only a ruse. To begin with, the name Rahab was a carefully selected epithet, and like that of Joshua (“God saves”) was symbolic of a designated role, as are the names of so many other Biblical characters. Elsewhere in the Old Testament the name Rahab (“pride, belligerence, enlargement”) is used to represent Egypt, the traditional domain of the Sun-god Ra. It is also applied to the unbounded watery depths (Heb. tehom) of creation that were divided by YHWH in order to form dry land. Similarly, in the Babylonian Creation Epic the oceans are personified by the “resplendent” goddess Tiamat, who is further described as “risen up” and “haughty.” Tiamat had formerly given birth to the gods, but after being stirred to rage by her consort Kingu (associated with the Moon) she determined to kill her divine children.

In response, the god Marduk (associated variously with the Sun, Mars, Jupiter or a rogue gravitational body) engaged Tiamat (Tehom/Rahab) in battle and split her into two parts. Her surging waters were in this way transformed from an unpredictable menace into calm seas under a kind sky. Moreover, the instigator Kingu was defeated by Marduk and his blood used to fashion mankind. By association, Rahab of Jericho is revealed not only as a great queen but also one who represented a deadly threat to Joshua and the Israelites. Further, she is specifically associated with the royal court of Egypt from which Joshua, Moses, and the Israelites had earlier fled.

Our Lady of Jericho does not live and work along a cramped alleyway, but in a lofty tower built over the city wall. Rahab therefore occupies a critical element in the city’s defenses. Such a tower would be a privileged place suitable as the living quarters of a queen, and not a common whore. What’s more, even though Rahab harbors suspected spies, the king of Jericho refrains from accusing her of treason, and her residence is not subjected to a search. Rather, Rahab speaks directly to the king and with complete impunity. The king even takes direction from her, or should we say misdirection. At her urging, a posse is sent by the king of Jericho to chase after the spies, but these spies are still with Rahab and hidden on the roof of her penthouse suite. After night falls, they escape, Rapunzel style, out a window of the tower and using a rope provided by Rahab. She even instructs the men on how to evade detection in the countryside so that they can safely return to Joshua with the information she has given them.

En route to Jericho from his encampment at Shittim (meaning, “Acacia,” from its scourging thorns), Joshua (ala Biblical YHWH and Marduk-Ra) divides the floodwaters of the Jordan and the Israelites cross over on dry land. For seven days the army of Joshua marches around Jericho, and on the seventh day marches around it seven times. This would have offered the time and diversion needed by Rahab (and those at her own command) to undermine the city’s defenses. Upon completing the seventh and final lap on the seventh and final day, Joshua signals for a long blast of trumpets. At that same moment it follows that Rahab orchestrated a cacophony of tumbling stones. The wall of Jericho “fell flat,” that is, collapsed under its own weight due to sapping or internal pressure. Jericho was not conquered so much by King Joshua from without, but by Queen Rahab within.

As a sign of her diplomatic immunity, Rahab hung a “scarlet thread” outside a window – perhaps the same window from which she had earlier flung a cord for use by the spies. Scarlet was the color of royalty and is another obvious clue to the high status of Rahab as queen. Therefore, if Queen Rahab plied any trade it was the manufacture of cordage and textiles, for upon the roof of her tower there were large quantities of valuable processed flax. Flax was used not only to make the rope that saved the men of Joshua, but also the red linen fabric that protected her from harm when Joshua stormed the city. When the bloody conflict was finished, the power of Jericho (a place name derived from the Hebrew word for “the Moon”) over Rahab was broken, and any former hostility toward Joshua subsided. Her former patron the king of Jericho was also “sacrificed” in the creation of Israel, and as Kingu had been in the creation of mankind.

The Wedding in Canaan

Much is made of Moses placing the “mantle” (of kingship) on Joshua son of Nun. Strangely though, the succession of Joshua is afterwards not even mentioned. Instead we get the impression that with the death of Joshua there was no recognized king in Israel until Saul and then David. In the interim, the Israelites “did what was right in their own eyes” and were governed more or less by “judges.” In the Old Testament, the predecessors of King David are named as Jesse, Obed, Boaz, Salmon and Nahshon. It is only in the Book of Matthew that the “harlot” Rahab of Jericho is identified as the mother of Boaz. Armed with this new intelligence about Rahab, we might boldly advance that the mantle or birthright passed from Joshua son of Nun to Salmon son of Nahshon. However, the Hebrew name Salmon (also written Sala) literally means “mantle” and the root sal connotes “salvation.” Therefore, it can be trumpeted long and loud that Salmon son of Nahshon was more commonly referred to as Joshua son of Nun. The name Nun is also written as Non and was consequently a short form of Nahshon.

If Joshua and Salmon were two epithets of the same person, then it follows that Rahab became the wife of Joshua and Joshua the father of Boaz. Indeed, we are told in the Book of Joshua (6:25) that Rahab “dwelled in Israel” after the conquest of Joshua. The Hebrew word translated as “dwell” (yashab) can also be translated as “marry.” However, if the hero Joshua had been the direct ancestor of King David, then why would this not have been fully recorded and celebrated? First of all, the former marriage(s) of Rahab made her nuptials with Joshua something less than right in the eyes of Israelites. Perhaps more disturbing, the future heir Boaz may not have been a true offspring of Joshua, but a child born to Rahab by a former husband, that is, a son of a rival or foreign king who was only adopted by Joshua! Thirdly, Rahab herself may have been considered a non-Israelite, and a hated Egyptian queen at that.

The Hebrew word for harlot, zonah (zaw-naw’), makes a ready play with the Hebrew word for queen, that is, sarah (saw-raw’). Both before and after her name was changed from Sarai (“domineering”) to Sarah, the sister-wife of Patriarch Abram also found herself in a compromising position and her reputation in considerable danger. While trying to become pregnant, she was first taken into the harem of a pharaoh of Egypt and then a king of the Philistines in Canaan. As a result, Sarah like Rahab was subjected to a stereotype and prominent double standard of her time. Women of common birth were considered to be the property of their husbands and could be punished by death for adultery. On the other hand, royal women (such Sarah and Rahab) emulated the great goddesses in their sexual freedom and virtual equality with gods.

Like Isis in Egypt, Inanna and Ishtar of Mesopotamia, and Asherah in Canaan, women of high birth were actually encouraged to seek out and have children by multiple partners – with or without the covering of marriage. In the Egypt of Rahab, a leading queen was designated as the “God’s Wife.” She could have numerous children (“holy births”) by various kings (“gods”) and still be considered a virgin. Outside the context of the royal court however, these ladies would have been thought of as no better than whores, and the Biblical authors often found it a convenient artifice to model them as such.

Redeeming Magdalene

The epithet Magdalene has the Hebrew meaning of “tower.” By virtue of this glaring allusion to Old Testament precedent, the marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene is not only to be suspected but also completely expected. As Jesus is patterned after Joshua, so Mary Magdalene is typecast as the incarnation of Rahab. Consistent with this, Mary Magdalene (“Mary of the Tower”) must be rescued by Jesus even as Rahab was by Joshua. Joshua marches around the city of Jericho seven times. Similarly, Mary Magdalene is delivered from the influence of seven “evil spirits.” That is, before becoming the disciple, patroness, and especially bride of Christ, she would first have to be divorced from a number of encumbrances, not the least of which was a “bad marriage.” Joshua kills the king of Jericho and liberates Rahab. Therefore by association, Jesus must kill, at least figuratively, those who wanted to confine Mary Magdalene in a tower, that is, to negate her power by engaging her in compromise with the present overlords of the land.

Ironically, the much-criticized union with Mary Magdalene actually served to make the Messianic claim of Jesus more legitimate from a Scriptural perspective. Tradition held that kingly Joshua was married to a harlot, or at least to a woman who had assumed the literary guise of one. And this is the context in which we must consider the depiction of Mary Magdalene. As with her Old Testament archetype Rahab, Mary Magdalene in reality would have been of the highest social standing, a veritable “queen” and “goddess” within Jewish society of the time. And like Rahab, the true status of Mary Magdalene is downplayed in Scripture but not fully suppressed. Her wealth and influence were not only helpful to Jesus, but actually a necessary part of her prophetic profile that needed to be documented. Moreover, her class distinction in turn unveils that of Jesus himself.

Rehab is the second of four women listed in the genealogy of Jesus Christ (not including his mother), but is the most important as far as the Gospel presentation is concerned. She is the only woman associated with Joshua son of Nun, the namesake of Jesus, and a type of “secret wife.” For effect, Rahab is also placed in the company of three other women who were renowned for assertiveness, Ruth, Tamar, and Bathsheba. They were chosen because of all Old Testament women they along with Rahab most nearly captured the heart and mission of Mary Magdalene. To varying degrees, all four “played the harlot” in order to improve their marital satisfaction and the welfare of their children. For taking courtly initiative each risked the painful stigma of adultery. Ultimately all were rewarded with greater status in their lifetime and recognized by posterity as integral to the Messianic line.

The motherhood of Rehab is only made explicit in the Gospels for the purpose of explaining to those who had “ears to hear” why believers were not to proclaim from every housetop the good news of Jesus’ marriage along with his saving message. There were very practical reasons for hiding the family life of Jesus under a bushel, and it also honored precedent. The marriage of Joshua and Rahab is disguised in the Old Testament. Moreover, after Joshua and Rahab there is a perceived latency or incubation period of the “judges” before the advent of a renewed native kingship in Israel under King David. Again, this provided a blueprint for Jesus and his inner circle to follow. In the short term, the Messianic successors of Jesus would need to guard their plan and cultivate belief in Jesus among the masses. However, within a few generations a Davidic figure would be expected to emerge from this Messianic line, and in the manner of both David and Joshua, he and his army of zealous followers would “take up the sword” and “take the kingdom by force.”

Considerable understatement and indirection is used in the Book of Joshua account of Rahab. Yet, her royalty (and therefore also that of Joshua) can be easily recognized by the pseudonyms and symbols masterfully woven as Biblical textile. This narrative style inspired the later Gospel accounts in which an imperiled royal line is again not only revealed in Jesus but also re-concealed to those who were not fully initiated into the “mysteries” of the new religion. Christianity was from its conception thrust into the world as a two-edged sword.

The fact that Mary Magdalene is strongly typecast in the Gospels as Rahab is certain proof that privileged leaders of the early Christian Church fully acknowledged her role as mother of a new ruling house. To wit, the basis for that role is easily established from canonized Scripture alone. If Jesus were intended to be a Messiah to end all Messiahs, then there would have been no point in even mentioning Rahab, or Tamar, Ruth and Bathsheba for that matter, in the genealogy of Christ. However, they are, and with the realization that Jesus had a regal wife comes the knowledge that he also had an underlying political agenda. Therefore, Rahab of the Old Testament represents the cherished New Testament “Bride of Christ” in more than one sense. She prefigures the body of believers who were to be “saved” and “sanctified” by Jesus, but more tangibly foreshadows Mary Magdalene as the liberated woman of Christ and a willing accomplice in dynastic intrigue.

  1. Mary, Rahab, the author Charles Pope
Excellent as usual, Charles — thanks.
Now if you could just help explain the Malachi-Zadok prince-ship a little, there would be even more help.

    1. Who was Mary Magdalene?
      You’re welcome, most excellent Anonymous!

This was a fun article to write. Hope it helps put the “Da Vinci Code” sensation into proper perspective. I’m doing additional research on the family of Herod the Great and should be able to offer more insight in the coming months. For example, it is quite clear that the royal identity of Mary Magdalene was Salome daughter of Herodias. Lynn Picknett (“Mary Magdalene”, p 213) proposes that Salome was sympathetic toward the “Jesus movement” and arranged for the head of John the Baptist to be given to Mary Magdalene. However, it is a simpler solution if Mary Magdalene became the “custodian” of John’s head because she was in fact one and the same as Salome. The next step is to identify John the Baptist and Jesus within the family of Herod or courtiers of that time.

Regarding the princeship of Malachi-Zadok, are you referring to Melchi-Zadok in Genesis, the first book of the Old Testament? The Book of Malachi is of course the last book of the Old Testament, but the two books do have something very important in common. They share a virulent anti-kingship sentiment and implicitly advocate rule by the hereditary Levitical (Zadokite) priesthood. In the Book of Genesis, it is Melchi-Zedek that provides an early model for priestly rule. In Malachi a corrupted Levitical priesthood is censured, and the secular government that the priesthood has submitted to is also mocked.

There is also a not so veiled denouncement of Edom (the descendants of Esau) in Malachi. Herod the Great was considered an Edomite whose family had converted to Judaism. The Hasmonean rulers that preceded Herod apparently also were not of the Levitical (Zadokite) line. When the Hasmoneans tried to take over the office of High Priest it led to conflict and provided the opportunity for the family of Herod to seize power. Malachi prophesies that judgment was coming and that “Elijah” would come before the terrible day of the Lord’s wrath.

So, all of these themes are interrelated. It will be possible to sort them out shortly. Stay tuned.

      1. Jesus as part of Herodian family
        Hi Charles,
Very interesting piece. Try ‘The Marion Conspiracy’. Theory is that Mary was daughter of High Priest of the Temple and was married to Herod’s son, Antipater(I think), who was murdered by Herod because his (Herod’s)sister didn’t want him to become king, she liked another of her nephews better. Mary was pregnant at the time with Jesus and escaped with the help of family friend Joseph. The slaughter of the children occured because they could not let a legitimate son of Antipater survive, due to his connections with Roman emperor. Of course this is just a short overview, but the book was very interesting and the argument logical.

        1. The (Charter) Flight to Egypt
Thanks Kristie. The peril of baby Jesus does make the most sense if he was a royal child.

If Mary Magdalene was Salome, then the identity of Jesus Christ within the family of Herod was Aristobulus (“Good Counselor”), a grandson of Herod through his Hasmonian wife Mariamne. It was this Aristobulus that married Salome after the death of her first husband Herod-Phillip. Mary the mother of Jesus was then another princess named Mariamne, the granddaughter of Herod’s brother Joseph.

According to the Gospel account Mary bore Jesus out of wedlock. The actual father would have been the child’s namesake Aristobulus son of the first Mariamne and Herod. This Aristobulus and his brother Alexander were executed by Herod in 7 B.C., the very year that the Christ is thought to have been born. As a result, Jesus was adopted by the appointed husband of Mary/Mariamne II, who is called Joseph in the Gospels, but corresponds to the future Herod of Chalcis ruler over the land of the Nazarenes.

Herod continued to love his wife Mariamne even after he had been persuaded to kill her and her sons for treason. He also realized that a male descendant of hers had the best chance of being accepted by the Jewish people as a legitimate king. The flight to Egypt of Mary and Joseph with the infant Aristobulus/Jesus was likely staged by Herod in order to typecast this child as a savior-figure, a “Horus” and rightful heir in Egyptian parlance. However, the favor of such a prince would naturally have evoked intense jealousy by other members of the royal family and merited a careful safeguarding.

          -Charles

          1. Mary/Salome
Great concept of Mary being Salome and having taken the head of St. John the Baptist. It really does make more sense than just some unknown child of an unknown mother being chased down and killed. However, I must ask a few questions. 1st being do you consider Mary Magdalene the mother of Jesus? I thought the Magdalene was a contemporary of his not his mother. And if she was his mother then that makes the whole idea of their marriage a whole different concept. 2nd, if she is the mother of Jesus and into the whole “Christian beliefs” concept, why would she ever request the death of John? Or could it be like DaVinci’s portrait of the Madonna of the Rocks where Mary looks quite hostile towards John and his mother? Thank you for a very thought provoking article and being new here I’m very interested in finding some of your other works!

      2. Origins of Judaism
Judaism did not exist at the time of Herod. There were fractions of multiple power groups ALL interested in the reigns of the land.

The Hasmoneans are the beginning/root of a movement that is today known by the name of Judaism. It is an ideology that grew into a Religion based on Converts into the ideology whereas the line of Zadok is a bloodline as in Tribal lineage. The power struggle between these groups ceased when the Levites/Zadok threw in the towel at – what is today – celebrated as Hanukkah, when the Hasmoneans claimed the oil burning for 8 days. The fraud was rejected by the Levites who walked away from the temple service which was taken over by the new power. The Hasmoneans could not claim the title Nasi as they were not Tribal/Bloodline related.

THAT is the real McKoy. Judaism, a religion is being a false claim to a blood lineage that never was.

ALL the stories return to this basic principle. In turn this basic principle goes always back to the same basic story found in the translation of the Sumerian tablets.

Knowing that there are 2 historic Stele ( Merneptah and Mesha) stating that the seed if Israel was laid to waste…is No More…yet we see in history that Eretz Israel wants to be Am Israel. Am Israel is a blood lineage while Eretz Israel can be anyone converting into the Judaic Religion.

The Result: The self-fulfilling prophecy of the delusional mind hungry for power and control, causing grave endurance for all of the planet. The phoenix dies again and again to rise again and again… mental madness unable to deal with reality.

The Jesus of Christianity NEVER EXISTED. There never was a cruxifiction the most you have is movement of another power group as is seen during the Great Revolt: Anarchy and Civil War as a result of multi-fractions wanting to be in power.

  2. We are all here to learn…and read between the lines
The larger picture is that those who are in Christ are seeking the way…it is the same way as the ancient traditions so very old have taught those of us who can see…and seek. The grand story of all of existence is indeed included within all that we see and hear. He who brings the message is the way…No Matter What you do to try to rewrite history…the way is clear.

    O.

  3. Rahab, Mary Magdalene and the Whore of Babylon
    Bravo indeed, Charles!

Why stop with Mary Magdalene? We have come to the end of another Age and it has become obvious that the role Mary Magdalene was to represent, a direct lineage to the Goddess, has been carried secretly but has not been honored. The Age of Pisces had that opportunity, for the two fishes forming a circle represent the ancient omphalos, the serpent eating its own tail, and represent an honoring of the natural cycles, a facet of the Goddess. But Christianity opted to fragment the symbol and chose dualism, where the top fish became ‘good’ and the bottom fish ‘evil’, the Zoroastrian model. So we have had 2000 years of dualism where only the ‘good’ were allowed to thrive, and in order to be seen as good, the ‘good’ had to cheat, lie and murder because they were incomplete, having repressed the ‘evil’ in themselves. It all ended up with the ancient dualistic motto President Bush repeated like a good schoolboy: “If you ain’t with us, you’re against us!”

Mary Magdalene could not thrive in such a cesspool. But why don’t you examine Revelations why you are at it, and see the Astrological prescience of Saint John, the Divine, when he wrote about the Anti-Christ and the Whore of Babylon?! He obviously knew about the sign of Aquarius, knew that the Aquarian Age would dawn somehwere down the line, and prepared the faithful for that day: the Ant-Christ would have to be someone who would introduce the new spirituality of the next, Aquarian Age! And the Whore of Babylon is the the woman who is the symbol of Aquarius, kneeling by a river with an urn on her knee, pouring water into the river! In other words, St. John had the prescience of knowing that Mary Magdalene would return with the next Precession of the Equinoxes.

You can tell the Christian experience did not work because, instead of the peace on earth it promised, it brought 2000 years of solid war, continued in true Christian faith by our President. There may indeed be gnashing of teeth as the change of energies no longer support the repressive age of dualism, but shift inevitably towards another worldview that is not confrontational, not either-or, but all-inclusive and Goddess centered. Like Christianity, at its beginning, the new incarnation of Mary Magdalene will also face the same challenge: will she pour her Goddess-consciousness into all humanity, or will she be co-opted by, let’s say fascist environmentalists to renew the polluted waters of the earth?

And who exactly will be this Whore of Babylon? Any thoughts?

    1. “The Whore of Babylon”
Thank you Daniel for your compliment and comments, spoken as a Renaissance Man in the Dark Ages of our time.

There is no reason to stop with Mary Magdalene. Once she is recognized as a leading princess within the family of Herod the Great, then Jesus, John the Baptist, Joseph of Arimathea, the Apostles and other leaders of the early Christian Church can also be readily identified as members of that same extended family. I hope to begin outlining this in a future article. Yes, the Solomonic figure Herod the Great was architect of the “Christian heresy”, and the plan (with some modification) was brought to completion by his family after his death. His first purpose was to fulfill Messianic prophesy and thereby secure the acceptance of his dynasty among the Jews. The second goal was to achieve independence from Rome and if possible even exploit widespread anti-Roman sentiment and supplant their empire with one of his own. The man certainly thought big.

Prophetically speaking, when Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple were destroyed by Rome in 70 AD, Rome assumed the identity of Babylon – for it had been the Babylonians under Nebuchadrezzar that destroyed the first temple that Solomon built. The prophets warned of this event and also declared that Babylon would be destroyed and abandoned forever on account of it. After destroying Jerusalem, Babylon was conquered by Persia. The city of Babylon fell into ruin, largely due to sustained economic neglect. Therefore, far from demoralizing, the destruction of Jerusalem and banishment of Jews by Rome resulted in a marked increase in Messianic fervor among Jewish Christians and Gentile sympathizers abroad. Rome had sealed its own fate and Jesus himself was credited with predicting it. The Christian Church had all the ammunition it needed to recruit (convert) more lost souls and redouble its efforts against Rome.

When John wrote to the fledgling Christian churches in the Book of Revelation he purposely refrained from mentioning Rome due to threat of persecution. (Nevertheless, his work still must be interpreted entirely within the context of the Christian struggle with Rome.) John could on the other hand safely refer to Rome as “Babylon”, and this metaphor also best captured the prophetic denouncement of Rome for informed Jewish readers. The Christian Church eventually did prevail over the oppression of Rome, but not as quickly or in the manner John anticipated. Rome was not destroyed or abandoned. Instead, Christianity was adopted as the state religion of the Roman Empire and Rome itself became the capital and “New Jerusalem” of Christendom!

The art of prophesy and interpretation is still alive and well on Planet Earth today. We can be sure that world leaders fully understand the magical wonder-working power of precedent and popular expectation. Those who exploit this phenomenon the best will emerge as the winners and impose their agenda as the new economic model and spiritual “world view”. The losers will be branded as “antichrists”. History will repeat itself, not precisely, but as a variation on previous themes. So, who is the present Babylon? Some have said it is the Catholic Church transformed from triumphant Bride of Christ to Whore. But its kingship has long since been carried off. Others say it is now America with its own lethal game of economic and spiritual monopoly.

The most likely scenario is that America and its “New Jerusalem” of Washington D.C. will not be destroyed by terrorists from without, but be sold out or co-opted by its own leaders from within. The current model in which a grossly disproportionate amount of goods flow into America as dollars flow out has brought a type of Pax Romana, but it can’t go on indefinitely. Like the Roman Catholic Church, America will eventually have to adjust to the loss of suzerainty, and in doing so can continue to thrive. But on what soil and under what circumstances will yet another New Jerusalem be lowered from heaven? Will the multi-national corporation takeover and the establishment of a new world economy and government be peaceful or cataclysmic. The new gods and goddesses of the earth are those who control the corporate destinies, and they would like to avoid an Armageddon scenario if at all possible. It’s generally not good for business. Strategic “marriages” are usually better.

We will witness the fall (or at least transformation) of American economic and religious control, but with it the rise of corporate turf battles and that particular form of tyranny. This New Age of Aquarius is not likely to be that much greater than Pisces, and in some ways worse. Within a structured corporate society women may do at least as well as men, but neither will be anything more than indentured servants. Men and women “progress” by means of one immaculate deception upon another. There is always a huge gulf between what life can be and what it invariably becomes. We will always hope for The Savior, but heed the call of wolves in shepherd’s clothing.

    2. But why don’t you examine Rev
But why don’t you examine Revelations why you are at it, and see the Astrological prescience of Saint John, the Divine, when he wrote about the Anti-Christ and the Whore of Babylon?! Daniel stated.
And who is the whore of babylon….

I have some ideas on this subject, although none confirmed. I believe personally that babylon is the corporate/government guided world and the whore of babylon will be a women of power. She will have to have power or great charisma in order for others to take her seriously. She is driven by power and money and her credibility with the people will come from this. She is a “whore” not by the sale of her body, but by the sale of her human morality and ultimately her soul. (Perhaps Condolezza?)
      Just a thought.

  4. Interesting thread
For years I have been secretly speculating that Magdaline and Salome were one and the same, so I savored reading this thread. I am no one special but there was a period in my life when the window opened and I experienced visions. If I talked about them people would think of me as mad, but at that time in my life circumstances allowed me the environment to focus. I don’t have them now and I don’t pursue them, but I recall the authenticity of them. It was like watching a movie.

Maybe others on these threads have had similar experiences, I will have to look around. But it was the discussion of Magdalene (the “tower” -interestingly enough, considering Rahab in her tower) that brought me here since I still occasionally google the topic.

Is it any wonder that Magdalene is often depicted with a skull–or that Christ cast out the sevin sins after Salome’s dance of the seven veils.

Must leave. Will be back…I hope others are still here.

  5. Sumerian Translations and Present day stories
    * Anyone who has read carefully the Sumerian Translations presented in Sitchin’s book “The Last Book of Enki” will observe that within the settings humans call ” gods” another force is present, subtle with no name, to which the creatures humans and their gods are subjected.

Marduk did not trigger the split of Tiamat… he is a son of Enki…the oldest son who is perpetually deprived of his birthright. (Rings a bell why the bible is perpetually repeating the same story of the oldest losing his birthright to the youngest sibling: Abel and Cain; Ishmael and Yitzak;Essau and Yaakov = The same story is repeated in different time frames.

Tiamat was split as a result of planet born in “The Deep” on a collision course with Tiamat. Marduk has nothing to do with it.

** If the “Tribes of Israel” were truly Native Tribes how does a Native Tribe hand over its “defense” to a Stranger “Joshua, Son of Nun?
Indeed, in Tribal settings, Joshua did not belong to the tribe. His name indicate, he was an outsider related to the god Nun.
How did the Levites, by Bloodline part of the “Tribes of Israel” end up with no inheritance while Joshua, the outsider, son of Nun was given ample inheritance with the Tribes of Judah and Benjamin?

*** Could it be that Tribal Israel never existed and the Story referring to the “Tribes of Israel” is about the 13000 Priests and Servants of the Temple in Heliopolis(Egypt) who threw in the towel? In such a context it would make sense to have
    1) a stranger(Joshua, Son of NUN) in charge of the defense, and rewarded with an inheritance.

    2) the Pharaoh jumping into his chariots hoping to prevent their escape?

    3) Joshua ordered his troops to be circumcised to avoid spies infiltrating his army and the group.

4)The Stele of Mesha refers how Israel perished…”In my days he said this, but I got the upper hand of him and his house: and Israel perished for ever…”
Omri was an Army Captain; his father Zimri was a Captain of Chariots under King Elah; he had murdered. Omri was Not blood related to the kings of Israel/Judah.

Omri, king of Israel who reigned from 876 to 869 bc. He chose Samaria to be the capital of Israel in 870 bc.
Ahab, king of Israel (869-850 bc), the son and successor of Omri (reigned 876-869 bc). Ahab married Jezebel, a Tyrian princess, and through her influence the Phoenician worship of the god Baal was introduced into Israel. Ahab waged two successful wars against Ben-hadad, king of Syria, but in a third campaign was killed by an arrow. His daughter Athaliah married Jehoram (reigned 849-842 bc), king of Judah. Ahab’s entire family was later killed.

Stele of Mesha puts Israel as perished…how could Ahab be King of Israel? Ahab introduced BAAL, the Father of EL to his people.

3)Historically Jews were not around in 900BCE and appear after the Maccabean Revolt 250BCE. Simon was the only one of the five sons of Mattathias to survive and he ushered in an 80-year period of Jewish independence in Judea, as the Land of Israel was now called.
The Hasmoneans claimed not only the throne of Judah, but also the post of High Priest. This assertion of religious authority conflicted with the tradition of the priests coming from the descendants of Moses’ brother Aaron and the tribe of Levi.

The Birth of Judaism, and “The Jews” takes place at Hanukkah, when “Tribal Levi” walked out of the temple and Simon, became the self-appointed king. He could not use the title Nasi as he was neither bloodline nor a Tribal Leader or Elder. The Jewish Movement was born with the Pharisee, Judaism the Religion was written down 200 years later between Rabbi Akiva and Judah HaNasi.

There never was a “Jewish Royalty” as Judaism takes the names from history while its members are converts. There never was an Israel with a Judaic Religion=present day invention… Religion,(fiction of the mind) has created a culture and a people. How has it any substance or relationship with Ancient History?

    (Just a few items)
There are too many discrepancies and blatant indications that the so called “Tribes of Israel” was a title referring to a mixed group of peoples instead of a true Native people with its specific Aboriginal Lifestyle.

When your foundations are infected with termites it is hard to build and keep a healthy household. The Bible has produced 3 religions, one more inhumane and insane than the other, turning mankind on itself and destroy the environment…in the name of a god he cannot prove.

Where do all the Christian players of the gospels fit in when the basics of the Stories aren’t even Jewish?

One more very important question: WHO IS Charles N. Pope?

I have been searching for a decent biography of this so called Charles N Pope. No biography of any present day alive Charles N Pope exists. It would then mean that a group of scholars have taken on the pseudonym of Charles N Pope as one person cannot produce the enormous details found in the Domainofman. Lets hope that this material is being introduced in all schools as part of history in the hope to put religion to rest.

    1. Becoming… This is
      Becoming…

This is interesting, the dark night of the soul is the AntiChrist of your Being, the image of Revelation is given to the “son of Man” who is the morning star. The seal was ushered from a single book that continued to prophecy to unfold time in a new way.

God is an Author, Imagination his book, see what reveals within yourself to the ambient colors that flow through the Rainbow Throne in the Emerald State around the Purple and Scarlet Queen.
