  1. Cleopatra Hijacked King Tut’s Penis Too
Re: “Historian claims Cleopatra died from a drug overdose, not a snake bite.”

Please disregard the fact that neither the tomb of Cleopatra or her remains have been yet located so… this is all pure speculation for the likely purpose of public attention via a few perky headlines.

On the other hand, one Daily Grail commenter states that he believes that Cleopatra was killed by the curse of King Tut’s penis.

    1. Cleopatra
Exactly, Redoubt, it’s all guesswork. The entire theory rests on the premise that Cleopatra was so vain she didn’t want her exquisite corpse made ugly by the agonising death throes of asp venom. I also didn’t know “probably” was ok in scientific circles these days, either.

What the article does highlight though is drug use in ancient Egypt — it wasn’t just pure imagination that dreamed up crocodile-headed gods that eat your heart if you’ve been naughty more than good. 😉

    1. Like father like son?

But when journalist Jo Marchant started researching this newest diagnosis for The New Scientist, evidence surfaced to suggest that Tut may have had a genetic mutation that causes weird physical effects like elongated skulls and under developed genitals.

Well, we do know Tut was the son of Akhenaten, right? And the many statues & carvings we have of the monotheist pharaoh seems to indicate he showed a very unusual physique; rather effeminate in fact.
