Quote of the Day:

The things that will destroy us are: politics without principle; pleasure without conscience; wealth without work; knowledge without character; business without morality; science without humanity; and worship without sacrifice.

    1. Greg needs a lawyer maybe?
      VERY interesting, StormBear.

Did you notice that the blurb at the bottom of the page claims “Copyright 2003-2004, All rights Reserved”?
No credit given to TDG or the News Team, even though at least one bullet item mentions TDG by name. His archives are also entirely composed of past TDG News. I am going to post your link back at him in Thursdays News and see if he still wants to copy it for his readership.:-)
      Thanks, C

    2. It’s a compliment
We do a good job here so it’s a compliment people are ripping us off.

I’m more pissed off that we’ve been put into the New Age label, as the last part of the http address shows! NEW AGE, hmph. I am so offended.

They didn’t even notice my “Al-Qaeda or Teenagers” link was to a satirical news site! As a result, CambodianOnline’s audience are not only scared of Al-Qaeda, but American teenagers …

Two things I want to ask: is the site’s admin aware of the plagiarism? And is the guy who is copy-pasting our news briefs getting paid? Perhaps a polite email is in order. Using GoogleNews can’t be a good excuse for them. 😉

      Swim safe, Henry…

  1. Quote of the day
Still think it works better the other way around…

The things that will destroy us are: principle without politics; conscience without pleasure; work without wealth; character without knowledge; morality without business; humanity without science; and sacrifice without worship.

AS for the news, well, it is a shame the guy didn’t just ask, or link to TDG directly. It seems too much like hard work to copy and paste

  2. Vatican’s arrogance
I think the pope is rather arrogant to believe that he can set himself up as an arbiter of what is right and wrong in science.
Or anything else for than matter.
Someone who was elected by a bunch of elderly men in long dresses with out-dated hopes and ideas should not be pronouncing on an issue about which he knows nothing.

Except he would know a lot about Nazi experiments I suppose, seeing as Pope Pius X aided and abetted the Nazis for many years in their disgusting attempt at genocide of the Jews, and was recently canonised by JP 2 for his efforts.

I would take the pope as seriously as I would take the Rev Moon or any other deluded religious leader, which is…not at all.

    1. Rightly said but…
Good comment there but unfortunately it’s people that let such institutions keep on going. Organised religion leaders have become more political than politicians themselves. Ah well…

  3. James Randi
I don’t know what it is about this man that makes me see red, maybe his assertions that he is never wrong.
The bit about the Welsh university teaching Reflexology was interesting, with Randi claiming it is not a science.
Neither is art, it is the most intangible thing in the world. Most art leaves me cold, and I have to take the word of the so-called “arty” people who tell me that it is good.
Perhaps Reflexology works in ways that are not quite scientifically understood, like homeopathy, but it still works.

I wish Randi would climb to the top of his ego and fall on his head.
    Or maybe he has.

  4. Cambodian Pirates
I first I thought it was just a RSS feed or something, but then I noted the errant copyright and no mention of the source.

I can see the title of the book… The Hacking Fields…
