Christmas Break
Posted by Greg at 13:37, 22 Dec 2009It's that time of year again, when all sorts of festivities abound, and web traffic dies to a trickle. Each year here at TDG we take advantage of that by easing off our posting schedule and recharging our batteries for the coming year. As such, news posts over the next couple of weeks will be sporadic, returning in full force in the New Year. Of course, you are welcome to continue discussing/commenting on stories, posting blog entries, or adding news yourself by contributing to the user 'Stream'. And there will still be updates to read if/when you stop by over Xmas - just don't expect as many as usual!
With the year coming to an end, I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank all readers and commenters - you help to make the site what it is, and I'm so pleased that TDG contributes to your day in some way. Looking forward to continuing with upgrades to the site next year, and making The Daily Grail an even better place to visit. Best wishes to all for the season, regardless of your faith or non-faith, and hoping 2010 brings nothing but good things to you and yours.

I've been a regular visitor for a little over a year now and haven't made comments before, but felt it was worthwhile to display my gratitude here and now. You guys really do a great job with such a variety of stories, especially niche stuff you really can't find elsewhere. Glad there's places like the Grail out there to fill that need, keep up the good work, and happy holidays!

I've been coming here for at least three years, and have always appreciated your efforts in gathering news on the diverse 'esoteric' topics that I find of interest. I don't celebrate the earth's making of a revolution around the sun, as that seems to have been happening for 4 billion years, so I don't think once more around the block is worthy of special notice. On the other hand,I wish you all the best, and enjoy your break.

My best regards to all who visit and post here, and especially the crew that pouts it all together.
I've been reading TDG for several years now, and occasionally comment. I disagree with a fair amount of the political slant the owners have, but I consider it like a family squabble. :)
This site is a daily stop on my reading and to-do list, and I thank you all for keeping it going.
Respects to all,

Well done, guys. You've continued to demonstrate an acute sense of selecting the appropriate for many, many years. You lead into all sorts of interesting bye ways and I want to wish you a very well earned break. Happiness to overflowing to you and yours.

I've been a fan of the site since before the Phenomena merger. It has to be getting somewhere around ten years!
Big props to Greg! TDG is only getting better.
And thanks to everyone else who makes this a great diversion from my day!

Another lurker who finally made an account a few months back, but still hasn't posted. Like ashwattha, I thought I'd say thanks for the work you put into the site and enjoy your holiday break!

Hold your good wishes for just a few more weeks, daydreamer ;)
This is Greg's message from last year. It popped up because some damn spammer let his commercial add.

Christmas timing is done according to the dictatorship of the solar system, or if you prefer the dictatorship of gravity. It won't wait for Greg.
Now if Greg does get snow in the next month or so, the global warming problem is licked.

actually I was in Greg's part of the woods on the weekend and it certainly was a lot cooler then it would normally be this time of year. But far from snowing.

... and many, many thanks to all those whose hard work behind the scenes give all of us so much pleasure and interest.
I think I've commented more this year than ever before, and thank everyone involved for their discussions.
Don't know how I'm going to fill my evenings without the Grail stopover, but all the Admins fully deserve some time off and I don't begrudge you a minute of it.
Looking forward to start-up again next year, so in the meantime ..
Regards and best wishes, Kathrinn.
P.S. It had better not snow here as we've had 5" rain in the last 24 hours and if, as they say, an inch of rain makes a foot of snow, I'd have to dig my way out of the house tomorrow! Looks like it's an early Wet Season this year.

Just wanted to point out that this story is from last year...people started commenting on it after a spammer posted a comment (since deleted) which brought it back into the recent posts. No holidays here just yet!
Kind regards,
Greg

Thanks, Greg - but when you do take a holiday you will still deserve to have one, and I still wish everyone the very best.
