Travelers Time

Wednesday marked the 11th anniversary of the first appearance of supposed time traveler John Titor back in the year 2000. While Titor’s prophecy failures have diminished his semi-mythical status somewhat, it remains a great storyline that deals with a fascinating topic. So this short documentary that looks at both the Titor myth and the possibility of time travel, and features the likes of Michio Kaku, is well worth a watch:

Hoping the copyright notice dated to 1960 is an in-joke…

If you are awakened in the middle of the night by the sounds of boot steps on the veranda and rise to sight a spectral figure in civil war garb marching across the boards do you regard that to be time travel? As soon as we recognize the reality of paranormal phenomena which nearly always manifest things of both our past and our future then we have also admitted to the reality of time travel.

Time travel is impossible, what is not is time-shifting, consider this to be something along the lines of dimensional shift but in a perpendicular way. Obviously we are far from tooling ourselves into these states, training our consciousness maybe easier, but i doubt going beyond the observer status is likely overstretching it.

If this is replicable, then I can see it being handy as a ‘security’ measure: if something happens that you don’t like, just go back in time enough times to make sure it doesn’t happen :3
