On the DVD box it states.
Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon (Best Actress, Dead Man Walking, 1995) narrates this visually stunning and thought provoking documentary based upon New York Times best selling author Dan Burstein's book Secrets of the Code. Among the specific issues that Secrets of the Code explores are these:
Was Jesus married to Mary Magdalene and what do alternative gospel accounts tell us about their relationship?
Did the Church intentionally denigrate the role of Mary Magdalene in order to minimize the role of women?
Is Christianity as we know it a Roman distortion of the actual teachings of Jesus, designed to promote the Empire’s values of patriarchy and hierarchy?
Have we been mistaken for twenty centuries about the true nature of the Holy Grail? Could Jesus and Mary Magdalene have had a child together?
Did geniuses in the arts and sciences, such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Isaac Newton, belong to secret societies that concealed and continue to protect the most compelling “insider” information in history?

What my wife hoped for and what I expected was a film that walks you through the clues that Robert Langdon finds in the Louvre involving Leonardo Da Vinci, secret societies, and the Holy Grail. What we got, especially in the first half of this haphazardly constructed documentary, was a rather vague (and "out there") tutorial on the sacred feminine and general background on early Christianity. While there's some attention to the symbols, nothing is in order, nothing is explored in any depth, and whole paintings and clues from the book are omitted.

Note to Greg -
Susan Sarandon also narrates the Joseph Campbell Myth series.
Susan Sarandon narrates this series of documentaries created by esteemed folklorist Joseph Campbell. The series explains and illustrates his fascinating comparison of world mythology and how similar legends in cultures as diverse as Chinese and Native American can reveal fundamental truths of human nature. Mr. Campbell's theories and observations have inspired many artists and thinkers and his accessible way of presenting said theories helped make him both a groundbreaking and popular comparative mythologist. Contains the entire MYTHOS series. See individual titles for details.

OK - We watched it and enjoyed it. Nice documentary, gives some but not nearly all the facts that should be covered. It stuck to the framework of The Da Vinci Code to give the point by point differences. This could have easily been turned into a two disc set expanding on just a few of the themes.
