It is tradition that this is the right night to make the wishes…
E tradizione che questa sia la notte giusta per esprimere i desideri…
LEGEND OF EDELWEISS
Several time ago mountains watched the shooting stars that went to get lost in the sea.
In the sea the stars add themselves to the stars marine into the .
Le mountains was envious of the sea, so populated of fishes, corals and over all stars!
After several years of pain the mountains ask to God:
"Why don’t give to us the falling stars? The sea is already so populated!
Gad said:
"Even you have many treasures: woods, animals, fields, rivers…"
And the mountains replied:
"But we have nude rocks, silent and solitary places, without life. We don’t ask so much, just to fall some stars on the top where there is nothing only the white snow"
So God agreed
The Night of Saint Lawrence of the next year the mountains shone of the stars that was fallen on their top...
The Edelweiss was in flower.
LEGGENDA DELLA STELLA ALPINA
Molto tempo fa le montagne osservavano le stelle cadenti che andavano a perdersi nel mare.
Nel mare le stelle si aggiungevano alle stelle marine negli immensi fondali.
Le montagne invidiavano il mare, cosi popolato di pesci, di coralli e soprattutto di stelle!
Dopo molti anni di sofferenza le montagne si rivolsero a Dio:
"Perché non dai a noi le stelle cadenti? Il mare è già così popolato!”
Dio rispose:
"Ma anche voi avete molte ricchezze: i boschi, animali, prati, fiumi…”
Le montagne replicarono:
"Abbiamo però le nude rocce, luoghi silenziosi e solitari, senza vita. Non ti chiediamo molto, solo di far cadere alcune stelle anche lassù dove non c’è nulla, solo la candida neve"
Dio allora acconsentì.
La notte di San Lorenzo dell’anno successivo, le montagne brillavano delle stelle che erano cadute sulle loro cime…
Erano fiorite Stelle Alpine.
