14 Gennaio: Pongal & Moon of the Wolf

FESTIVAL OF THE SUN
Pongal is the first important feast of the year of the Tamil Nadu ethnic group where the reunited families cooks the sweet rise on the only one fire.
It is a traditional feast dedicated to the harvest and to the livestock and it is the only feast that follows the Solar Calendar so that falls every year in the same day.
Celebrated in the North India also as Makara Samkranti or Festival of the Sun, when the Sun starts his way to North so indicating the end of the Winter.

THE MOON OF THE WOLF
It is called also Quiet Moon, Moon chaste, Moon shining, Moon of little Winter.
It is a protective Moon with a flow that works under the surface, indicates the start for every activity and is useful to counter the spells.
Its name “Moon of the Wolf”refers to some traits* of this animal, that permits to retake the contact with our inner Master, that like the human being, lives in community but if he remain without pack, ends to waste away and to die of hunger.
So this Moon advises to keep the energy for personal problems, to our dear ones, remembers to be more close to the family or to what we consider “our family” and to put right a quarrel with a relative or a friend.
It can be celebrated wearing something of red-bordeaux, burning candles of same colour and incense with smell of anise, lavender, rosemary, eating sweet cookies drinking apple juice.

THE WOLF*
In some traditions the wolf is connected with Sirius Star, Star from the ancient Masters arrived.
This animal is valued a Master, able capable to wander and come back to his pack to narrate about its observations and his experiences.
Even if it don’t renounce to its freedom, its life is very tied to his family, and it is one of the animals that remain faithful to the pal that have chosen.
It is narrated that its howl to the Moon permits it to be reunited to her energy.
The wolf is valued as a Master that permits us to teach to others and to help them to understand the life and to find their and our way.

LA FESTA DEL SOLE
Pongal è prima festa importante dell'anno delle etnie del Tamil Nadu dove le famiglie si riuniscono e cucinano del riso dolce su un unico grande fuoco.
Si tratta di una festa tradizionale dedicata al raccolto e al bestiame ed è l’unica festività che segue il Calendario Solare quindi che cade ogni anno nello stesso giorno.
Celebrata nel nord India anche come Makara Samkranti o Festa del Sole, quando il Sole inizia il suo percorso verso nord segnando così la fine dell’inverno.

LA LUNA DEL LUPO
Nota anche come Luna calma, Luna casta, Luna brillante, Luna del piccolo inverno.
E’una Luna protettiva con un flusso che lavora sotto la superficie, indica la partenza per ogni attività ed è utile per controbattere gli incantesimi.
Il suo nome “Luna del Lupo” rimanda ad alcune caratteristiche* di questo animale, che ci permette di riprendere contatto con il nostro Maestro interiore, che come gli esseri umani vive in comunità ma se rimane senza il branco finisce per struggersi e morire di fame.
Così questa Luna consiglia di conservare energia applicandosi ai problemi personali, agli affetti, ricorda di essere più vicini alla nostra famiglia o ciò che noi riteniamo come “nostra famiglia” e per rimediare ad un litigio con un familiare o un amico,
Può essere festeggiata indossando qualcosa di rosso bordeaux, bruciando candele dello stesso colore e l'incenso di anice, lavanda e rosmarino, mangiando biscotti zuccherini e bevendo succo di mele.

IL LUPO*
In alcune tradizioni il Lupo viene posto in relazione, con la stella Sirio dalla quale, secondo la leggenda, provenivano i maestri dell'antichità.
Questo animale è considerato un Maestro, capace di girovagare e di far ritorno al suo branco per riferire delle sue osservazioni e delle sue esperienze.
Anche se non rinuncia alla sua indipendenza, la sua vita è strettamente legata alla sua famiglia, ed è uno degli animali che rimane fedele alla compagna che ha scelto.
Si racconta che il suo ululare alla Luna gli permette di ricongiungersi alla sua energia.
Il Lupo è visto come Maestro che ci permette di insegnare agli altri, ed aiutarli a comprendere meglio la vita per trovare la loro e la nostra strada.
