In this night the Moon is more full and shining that others night.
Feast to remember the Queen Chang Er that ascended to the Moon after to have drunk the elixir of immortality. This is also the feast of the familiar reunion: with dinner in the open, out the town, to the moonlight, eating a circular sweet The Sweet of the Moon.

- PITRI PAKSHA
Popular celebration, that lasts until October 2, in honour of the dead to keep the spiritual bond between alive and dead men.
Pitri from sanskrit word that means Father, in India appoints the soul of an ancestor to which periodically are dedicated donations; the same word sometime is used to call the Prajapati:
The Lord of Creation, maker and support of the Universe and Gods; epithet of Brahma and sometime of Indra. The early Pitri was the children of the Gods that learned to their fathers the rituals of expiation, penance and humility because the parents had neglected to honour Brama. The God of Death Yama was the King of the Pitri and Svadha (= the sacrifice) their Mother.

In questa notte la Luna è più piena e brillante che nelle altre notti.
Festa che ricorda la Regina Chang Er che salì alla Luna dopo aver bevuto l’elisir dell’immortalità. Questa è anche la festa simbolo della riunione famigliare: si cena all’aperto, fuori città, al chiaro di Luna e si mangia un dolce rotondo Il Dolce della Luna.

- PITRI PAKSHA
Celebrazione popolare, che dura fino al 2 Ottobre, in onore dei defunti per mantenere il legame spirituale fra i morti ed i vivi.
Pitri dal termine sanscrito che significa padre, in India designa l’anima di un antenato al quale periodicamente si dedicano offerte, lo stesso termine è talvolta usato per indicare Prajapati: Il Signore della Creazione, creatore e sostegno dell’Universo e degli Dei; epiteto di Brahma e talvolta di Indra. I primi Pitri erano i figli degli Dei che insegnarono ai loro padri i rituali dell’espiazione, della penitenza e dell’umiltà perché i genitori avevano trascurato di onorare Brama. I Dio della Morte Yama era il Re dei Pitri e Svadha (= il sacrificio) la loro Madre.
