News Briefs 22-10-2014

The world hasn’t run out of stories just yet.

Quote of the Day:

Stories of imagination tend to upset those without one.

Terry Pratchett

  1. King Tutenstein
As far as I know there have been no new studies of Tut since the 2009/2010 timeframe. So, without having seen this latest docu-drama it’s impossible to say whether it reveals anything new or is tastefully presented (or not).

But, to suggest (as the article does) that Tut was an unimportant figure from the ancient world is totally ignorant. He was part of a family that ruled the world. The more we can know about that family and that world, the better. Bring it on!

  2. witch bottle
also known as “onion” bottles because of their shape. They are very valuable with some from shipwrecks averaging thousands of dollars depending on the size. Small ones carried oils and liquor, huge ones carried water, alcohol and lime juice for scurvy prevention. I have one actually (didn’t pay thousands though) and I have found the bottoms of them along my beach now and then.

  3. alien in Singapore
I guess I’m desensitized from live along the shore but I could tell immediately that it was some form of sea star. Nature is more amazing than anything Tsoukalos can think of 😛
