Once more into the breach...

A huge thanks to Susan.

Quote of the Day:

"The basic problem is that web 2.0 tools are not supportive of democracy by design. They are tools designed to gather spy-agency-like data in a seductive way, first and foremost, but as a side effect they tend to provide software support for mob-like phenomena."

The article is a little confusing. The Lemba are from the Zimbabwe region in Africa and have a genetic indication that they may be of Jewish origin.

The Gogodala of Papua New Guinea believe they are of Jewish origin, but have no obvious genetic connection.

Dr. Parfitt theorizes that people like the Gogodala have been labeled as "lost" Jews by Western explorers and have subsequently accepted and embraced this identification.

I blame the journalist. The interview was too centered in the Gogodala, but failed to mention the evidence gathered to conclude the Lembas do have Jewish ancestry.

A man recently found out that his chronic runny nose – which had sometimes persisted throughout the entire calendar year – was not caused by allergies.

His brain was leaking fluid, and doctors had to perform surgery to fix the problem.

um...........oh fuck, this might be my problem :P

god isn't like dog, because if god was dog, we'd all have a lot more time to "smell the roses" and less time fighting for no good reason. In short - a better world because we would be devoid of the knowledge of what we could have been if we were human.

Second, we created god more in our image over time, whether He/She/It exists or not is not nearly as important nor substantial as the fact that 99% have never met god and assume what They look like. If He/She/It is a dog, then we fucked up somewhere, didn't we?

/> Dogs, cats, and a plethora of other animals have kept me better company over the years than faith or the Church. That, and the parking lot after mass lets out is like playing bumper cars with Godzilla :P

To me it's the idea of finding the divine in the small details of life. Those 'boring' small things that fill 99% of our existence, that we all overlook because we're so focused on achieving that fleeting 1%

Like Jobs, I don't know how aware Brown was of the inadequate conditions those poor translators were submitted to, just to fulfill his desire of a world-wide release of Inferno.

But now that the story is out, he has no excuse not to compensate those people somehow.
