Quote of the Day:

The secret of life is to appreciate the pleasure of being terribly, terribly deceived.

Oscar Wilde

  1. Meteorite Cults
For those of us who work with the energies of stones and crystals or rather work with the manner in which such types of matter interact with and modulate the human energy field it is no surprise that there would be evidence of meteorite cults since these stones and also tektite glasses have very novel effects on the human biofield. Ancient man may have cultivated mythological reverence for these spectacular collision events just because they were so startling and powerful, but I am fairly sure the cult would also have gravitated to the novel feelings experienced by people who handled or wore meteorites and tektites. Somehow or other the immense energy of collision is recorded or ensconced in the materials though it is not the case that one experiences a heightened energy – it is just a very unusual feeling – somewhat expansive and meditative, and all the more unusual because these materials are amorphous – they are not crystalline or arranged in coherent lattices though they may contain minute crystals such as microdiamonds.
A culture of humans prone to grasping for any unusual experiences would naturally flock to these artifacts of the collision and develop a mythology according to whatever their bent is in the first place.
The “black stone” of mecca is another more flamboyant case in point – elaborate reverences can form around these objects which is very likely based upon the usual energetic properties of these materials and not merely stemming from awe of the unusual and spectacular physical circumstances of their physical creation.
