Quote of the Day:

“There was a faction in the MoD who said ‘We want to shoot down a UFO and that will resolve the issue one way or another’.’’

1. Cracked – Bizarre Military experiments…
I really hate to say this, as I know its all about points of view and I certainly do not wish to offend anyone…

…but I think some of the links to stories I find here at the Daily Grail are just as bizarre and entertaining as the bizarre military experiments. 🙂

Cheers

1. internet
Well…

most of us know that internet traffic can move over various physical media. Telephone lines, radio waves, infrared, and such things. For each of these there are standard methods defined by the IETF, which is a real organization. We would not be posting and reading these messages without them.

Among the many transmission methods proposed is RFC 1149: A Standard for the Transmission of IP Datagrams on Avian Carriers, which uses homing pigeons to carry the data. While this may sond silly, it actually does work.

For more on this sort if internet activity, look here and here.

it is when you get there.

1. Technologies unfeathered…
Hot on the heels of IPoAC (IP over Avain Carriers) Google advances beyond platform free “pigeonware” with their ground breaking Google TiSP technology

With Google TiSP, Peer to Peer protocol has new meaning!

🙂

Cheers

1. good concept
yes TiSP is a good concept for tunelling, although it has not been demonstrated at this time. Unlike IPoAC, which has been demonstrated to work, albeit at low bandwidth and with considerable packet loss.

Also, I disagree with your description of TiSP being “ground breaking”. They propose to use underground pipes that are already there, so there is no reason to break any ground, or dig extra holes.

1. True…
Well considering what most people use the internet for, Google TiSP might well be the right technology at the right time… metaphorically speaking. 🙂

Cheers

2. Poo tubes?

Oh god, how many potty humour jokes could we thread together here now.

Although, keeping things clean, I do believe you meant to say “tubes“, not pipes…
😉

Kind regards,
Greg

2. D’uh!
We dig bizarre, my man! :^)

It’s all the rabbit SH*T you stumble over on your way down!!!

2. The Problem With The Stone Age…
Stone was the perfect medium for the gods. Stone has CRYSTAL (radio) properties and can hold an electrical charge. Stones can be highly electrified, stones can be highly magnetized. Standing stones can carry an EM signal and pass on the information/power to the next stone in a grid of standing stones (induction). Stone was the perfect material for gargantuan statues that only appear as idols to honor pagan gods. The rock architecture and pyramids’ true purpose had to do with functioning as UTILITY POLES!
Very entertaining, see what I mean?

(I’m so mean there isn’t a mean to mean the mean I mean, know what I mean?)

🙂

Cheers

3. The right to peer inside your iPod…
Think about this.

Things that get pirated are popular things that are often too expensive for most people.

Music & Movies:

Today with internet file sharing rampant when one thinks of pop music or Hollywood stars one does not conjure up images of them shopping at Walmart. The same goes for the big record labels and film studios – don’t forget the execs as well…

Q: So how is that possible?

A: Its not as bad as they say it is? Could be…

Don’t get me wrong, I agree with the concept of intellectual property. However there is a balance between what the buying public perceives as being fair and what the industry thinks is fair.

I have bought every Beatles album at least two to three times over during my life. I have paid for the privilege to listen to the Beatles every time a new media comes out, vinyl, 8-track, cassette and CD. So do I feel guilty downloading Beatles music often to replace lost or outdated media? No, not at all, why should I?

In fact I have downloaded some new music that I have never heard before and if I liked it I would later buy the CD when I saw it (In China its difficult anyway to buy western music pirated or otherwise).

I live in China the “knock off King of the World”. I buy pirated DVDs all the time and download what I can’t find like Mythbusters.

Do I feel guilty?

Nope. I have no other choice. It’s that or nothing.

In China many movies often do not pass Chinese censorship. So most of the people in China who are buying pirated (western) DVDs are foreigners living here so they have something to watch.

I know this is a hot subject and there are good arguments from both sides of the fence, this was mine.

Cheers
