Quote of the Day:

Belief is the wound that knowledge heals.

The Telling, Ursula K. Le Guin

    1. The “Snowden Truthers” might
The “Snowden Truthers” might better spend their time examining to what extent Snowden looks “handled” whether he knows it or not, and also the real problem with Snowden is that he never quits whining about how his goose is cooked. Whether he understands it or not he appears to be the poster boy for the idea that all free speaking journalists should be afraid… very afraid. I would rather see that notion made a media splash and dissection. It is probably impossible to determine if Snowden is a plant anyway. Why not just dwell on his rampant paranoia and depressed fatalism and try to poll journalists to see how much their fear quotient has risen post Snowden? The real test though will be to see what actually happens to him. We all thought that Assange was going to be imprisoned for life and nothing has ever come of that. One can hardly be blamed for wondering of these guys are limited hangouts.

      1. NSA
Personally, I don’t give a flying fuck about Snowden.

What we should care about is whether his assertions are true, and if they are not we bloody well should assume that they are.

So my recommendations in more polite language:

        (1) if you want to speak privately, on the internet, use peer-to-peer encrypted.

        (2) if you want to speak publicly, speak. Don’t hide, speak.

  1. Humans and Neanderthals
So the various ‘species’ were able to interbreed – thus all variations on a common ancestor. Wonder where (s)he came from? Maybe prehistoric Iraq, or even Jackson, Missouri?

After all, wasn’t procreation part of the punishment?
