Quote of the Day:

The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words.

Noah’s Ark: This is one of those rare occasions on the internet, were the 530+ comments after the article are more entertaining than the article. Don’t get me wrong I thought it was fascinating, but the comments are so up and down I can’t tell which are serious and which are trolls. Back on topic though, I wonder if this could be called the definitive shape of the ark, or just another interpretation of what the ark looks like. As we know, the flood story and the character of “Noah” is way older than the Bible version, so I hope this man isn’t outright believing that this is absolute proof of both the ark and it’s shape. The saucer shape doesn’t seem very buoyant, or shaped for long travel. If you think about the fact that boats have been shaped roughly the same way for thousands of years, obviously it’s a form that works. So yeah, then the other explanation is aliens…since that seems to be the default these days for weird shit that happens.

Crows: Case and point as stated above, however this time they are on to something, like the fact that crows are probably plotting to take over the world.

Leg in the pool: A professor of mine once posed for a picture with his prosthetic leg sitting in a chair. The picture was blown up to make a “inspirational” poster which was hung up in the library of my college. One problem: he isn’t missing a leg. He posed in a way so his right leg was bent back so the knee was in the prosthetic and it looked like he actually lost a leg. He got the leg from a friend because of something that happened to him while he was in college (it’s a long story). Anyway, from that point on, every time he walked into the library, a librarian or clerk tell him “You are a very brave man,” or something to that measure. As far as I know he never told them the truth, he had a habit of pranking the faculty. I know, it’s terrible, but he wasn’t trying to offend anyone (and to my knowledge not many people even noticed the poster) and the poster was removed about two weeks later.

Question: how murky is that pool water that you can’t see that there’s a leg floating along the bottom…or for that matter a person attached to it?

Armpit cheese: This is one of those moments in human thought where you think “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.” 😛

Happy Birthday to the owl from space 😉
