1. Severed feet in Canada
Turns out that the recent spate of severed feet washing up on shores around British Columbia, Canada, may be a hoax.

This article, posted today on the BBC news site, reports the findings of the local coroner.

1. Foot or feet?
Turns out that the recent spate of severed feet washing up on shores around British Columbia, Canada, may be a hoax.
I think it’s only the latest (sixth) foot that is believed to be a hoax. That’s my understanding of the news items I’ve read at least.

Kind regards,
Greg

1. Thanks Greg
You’re right Greg – thanks for pointing that out. I went back and read the article again, and it appears that only the latest find is an animal skeletal foot put into a shoe.

The others are referred to as “human”.

“My bad”, as the grammatically challenged would say.

p.s. just noticed that I’d posted this against the blog scans, not the daily news. My double bad (or is that bad bad). :-/

1. Re “your bad”
We’ll forgive you, Xibalba – probably 2 small boys causing you distractions, not to mention all those sleepless nights, have something to do with it!

Hope you and Mrs Dr X. are well.

Regards, Kathrinn

1. Re: my bad
Maybe the stronger version of “my bad” in newnglish should be “my worse”. But that might be too regular for the new people.

About the shoes – I remember a news report about shoes drifting in the ocean. Maybe it was sandals, I am not sure. The point was that the right shoes ended up on a particular beach, and left shoes did not. Supposedly this had to do with the asymmetry, leading to some kind of steering.

Also, most people (60% or so) have legs of unequal length. For right-handed people, the right leg is usually longer. Oh well, just idle speculation.
